Job DescriptionSingapore Art Museum (SAM) is seeking to fill the role of Head, Partnerships & Patronage, responsible for leading the Partnerships & Patronage department. As a self-motivated and results-driven professional, you will be tasked with managing a team of two employees and report to the Acting COO and CEO.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and implement an annual fundraising and partnership strategy aligned with SAM’s vision and goals.
- Identify potential new partners and establish relations with corporate organizations and benefactors to support SAM through corporate giving, in-kind sponsorship, individual giving and legacy schemes.
- Foster and maintain relationships with current donors to steward, retain and steer them to the next level of giving.
- Support and partner with Board Members on fundraising initiatives, cultivating external alliances to enhance philanthropic support.
- Support and follow-up on high-level strategic sponsorship pitches.
- Manage the current portfolio of SAM’s donors, including donor servicing and preparation of update reports.
- Develop a calendar of hosting opportunities, generate and manage regular communication with actual or potential funders, partners and donors.
- Set up a membership programme to engage corporates, individuals, international visitors, expatriates and Singaporean visitors.
- Ensure that Policies and Best Practices regarding ethical gift acceptance are in place and reviewed regularly.
- Oversee and manage the team including providing guidance to team members on prospecting, pitching, developing strategy, stewardship and governance.
- Develop and execute the team’s annual workplan and budget plan.
- Serve as the secretariat for the Development Committee.
- Execute ad hoc duties to further the goals of the team, where appropriate.
- A degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field is required.
- At least 10 years of relevant work experience in fundraising, philanthropy, grant management, business development, corporate social responsibility, donor/stakeholder management, or related field.
- Good understanding of the museum industry, museum administration and programming needs, as well as knowledge of protocol matters.
- Ability to develop strategies, budgets, negotiate, work in a team, and to work under deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with proficiency in engaging diverse audiences.
- Proven capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet firm deadlines under pressure.
- A proactive individual with strong interpersonal skills, comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
- A team player who is positive, collaborative, resourceful and enjoys working with colleagues across departments.
