What the role entails:
Performs routine laboratory test procedures as outlined in the laboratory technical manuals. Adheres to quality assurance and quality control procedures in performing all testing.
Correlates clinical information and/or previous lab results and reports discrepancies to Senior Laboratory Manager/ Deputy Laboratory Manager when no preset criteria for decision making are available before taking action.
Maintains and operates lab equipment; able to detect malfunctions as they occur by review of instruments results. Troubleshoots the problem with technologist assistance.
Responsible for quality control for the Diagnostic Laboratory, achieving KPIs, TATs and quality objectives agreed by the department and maintain internal and external quality control in monitoring the quality of daily work. Investigate underperformance and implement corrective action and maintain quality standards in accordance with ISO 15189, CAP requirement and other applicable regulatory bodies e.g. MOH.
To monitor and maintain standards of the service and to provide support and guidance to others on the technical standards required. This includes investigating, managing and monitoring incidents in line with QMS policy and in conjunction with the quality manager.
Qualifications we are looking for:
B.Sc. in Biomedical Science / Medical Technology or related Science discipline.
5 years or more of experience in the molecular department (hospital/ clinical laboratory setting).

The Department of Political Science at the National University of Singapore invites applications for the position of Head of Department at the rank of full professor or higher (endowed chair professor). Research and teaching specialisation is open, although candidates should contribute to one or more of the Department’s four subfields: comparative politics, governance and public policy, international relations, and political theory.
The successful candidate will have an internationally recognised record of research and publication, as well as a record of very good teaching. Exceptional leadership skills are essential, as is a demonstrable commitment to intellectual and methodological pluralism. Other qualifications include evidence of substantial administrative experience; a record of promoting faculty and student success; a commitment to collegiality and diversity; and excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills. The Head is expected to provide leadership to implement a strategic vision, with the support of department faculty, which advances the Department’s international profile and reputation. Research and teaching expectations may be reduced (e.g. one course teaching commitment per year), given the Head’s crucial service role.

The Department of Political Science is a vibrant multidisciplinary community comprised of over 25 tenure- and educator-track faculty members.
