- Design and develop hardware-related documentation for CBTC projects, including:
- Bookwirings (detailed wiring diagrams and interconnection documents)
- Bonding Plans (track circuit design and interface with trackwork and traction for safety and EMC compliance)

- Engage in technical discussions with the customer, providing expertise and ensuring that hardware designs align with contractual and operational requirements.
- Work collaboratively with Engineering and Project Managers to plan, track, and deliver hardware deliverables according to project schedules and milestones.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (Systems, RAMS, Installation, etc.) to ensure designs meet all functional, safety, and regulatory requirements.

- Assist during integration, testing, and commissioning phases by resolving technical issues and providing on-site or remote support as needed.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering templates, tools, and internal processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in hardware design within the railway, transportation, or other safety-critical industries. Experience working in international or large-scale infrastructure projects is preferred.
- Strong command of AutoCAD/Microstation, or similar tools for generating electrical schematics and single line diagrams.
- Knowledge and experience in developing PDP single line diagrams and performing system-level power calculations.
- Familiarity with CBTC systems, automation principles specific to GoA 4 solutions as well as understanding of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and surge protection in power systems.

You will lead end-to-end embedded hardware and firmware development, ensuring that our solutions are robust, scalable, and reliable in real-world industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead technical excellence in hardware design, including analog, digital signal processing, embedded firmware, EMI/EMC compliance, and hazardous area certification.
- Ensure thorough verification and validation practices, including functional, environmental, robustness, and compliance testing.
- Work in close coordination with software development, product engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing to align design objectives and deliver cohesive, production-ready solutions
- Lead all aspects of the mechanical design of enclosures and chassis, ensuring compliance with thermal, structural, and manufacturability requirements.
- Ensure project costs, scope, quality, and development timelines are achieved within senior management goals.
- Engage and manage third-party development partners to augment internal design capabilities.
- Manage the entire firmware development lifecycle—from architecture, coding (primarily in C/C++), testing, and documentation to final deployment.
- Design and review schematics and PCB layouts for rugged industrial hardware.
- Develop and implement test plans to ensure system reliability and performance in harsh environments.
- Integrate industrial communication protocols such as CAN, Modbus (RTU / TCP), IO-Link, Profinet, Profibus, EtherCAT, and Ethernet/IP.
- Troubleshoot and debug both hardware and firmware issues on real industrial systems, including oil & gas machinery.
- Ensure seamless data acquisition, transmission, and sensor performance in the field.
- Maintain accurate documentation and track bugs, updates, and design changes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong professional written and verbal communication skills in both English and Mandarin.
- 5–8 years of hands-on embedded firmware development, ideally in industrial or harsh-environment applications.
- Strong technical background in electronic circuit design, PCB layout, and product testing.

- Expertise in ultra-low power design, including sleep mode optimization and current profiling for battery-powered Zigbee devices.
- Professional experience with Zigbee protocol stack (e.g., Zigbee 3.0), mesh network architecture, and integration of Zigbee sensors and gateways
- Hands-on experience with analog and digital sensors for temperature, vibration, and sound acquisition and calibration.

- Contribute to risk management by identifying and mitigating hardware-related risks early in the design phase.
- Evaluate team skill sets and define training and development plans to maintain and enhance technical competencies.

- Represent the hardware function in internal coordination meetings and with external stakeholders.
- Participate in customer-facing technical discussions, providing leadership and clarity on design decisions, compliance, and implementation strategies.
- Act as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues and provide support during installation, integration, and commissioning phases.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in railway hardware design or a similar safety-critical environment. International experience or exposure to complex multi-site projects is preferred.
- At least 2–3 years in a technical leadership or team lead role, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Strong proficiency in hardware documentation (wiring diagrams, PDPs, bonding plans, cable core plan).
- Experience in CBTC systems, preferably with GoA 4 architecture. Familiarity with system safety, EMC, and functional verification principles is a plus.
- Ability to perform detailed electrical load and power consumption calculations.
- Deep understanding of relevant standards and best practices in railway signaling and electrical systems.
- Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in English (written and verbal); other languages are a plus.
- Experience with design automation tools and document control systems is advantageous.

- Serve as the technical expert in hardware design for CBTC GoA 4 projects, actively participating in design work and complex problem-solving.
