WHAT WE DO
Engineers in the Marquee Market Data team play an integral role on the trading floor and within Marquee. We are a cross-asset team that work closely with the desks to source and distribute market data used in pricing and risk for the firm and its clients. We build complex parallel computing architectures that power pricing, and market making that help run the firm's core businesses. We also build strategic modelling frameworks and trader marking tools that help desks create market data for the firm. In a team of energetic, self-motivated individuals, we need someone who can take the initiative at any stage of the software cycle, from inception, through development, to release and support. This role also interacts with a variety of other strat, trading and engineering teams. The structure is flat, and the successful candidate will be able to manage his or her time to have maximum impact.
YOUR IMPACT
As a Market Data Engineer, you will be building the foundational technologies that source and distribute market data for markets around the world. You will be working on a team focused on building the best-in-class market data infrastructure. You will work with other engineers and traders to improve all aspects of our platform. You'll do this with a keen eye on performance, guided by a robust measurement framework and lots of experimentation. You will have an opportunity to develop a deep understanding of Goldman Sachs' securities business flows.

- Contribute to architectural decisions and implementation of our market data platforms, both strategically and day to day
- Drive our platform development using a range of technologies, and collaborate closely with other quant, trading and core engineering teams
- Analyse platform performance and identify areas for improvement
- Improve the safety and reliability of our market data systems
- Manage work to balance the short-term needs of the business with strategic enhancements
Basic Qualifications
- Excellent academic record computer science or in a relevant quantitative field such as physics, mathematics, statistics, engineering
- Strong programming skills in an object oriented or functional paradigm such as Java or C++
- Self-starter with strong self-management skills, ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver in a high-pressure environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience of the following would be advantageous:
- Minimum 1 year (for Analyst)/ 2 years (for Associate) of experience in Java 8 or above
- Experience building multi-threaded/concurrent or low-latency systems
- Prior experience in building trading/front office platforms

Job Responsibilities and Tasks

- Drive delivery of IPP Goals Performance and key priorities of Cost, Scale, Quality, Cycle Time and People.
- Provide oversight and guidance, fostering consensus among operational sites and central teams for successful execution of critical projects.
- Provide accurate and timely reports on critical issues for the Senior VP to support effective decision-making processes.
- Coordinate essential meetings, monitor operational progress, and review key performance indicators for the leadership team.
- Engage with global cross-functional teams and network PMOs to drive operational progress and deliver on strategic priorities.
- Serve as the liaison between the Senior VP and both internal and external stakeholders.
- Organize and facilitate Global Assembly & Test summits and related events.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree/Master's in Engineering or Science discipline or equivalent work experience
- 5 - 10 years of working experience in semiconductor operations
Team members with experience in Global Assembly & Test operations will be preferred
Strong influencing skills (leading without authority)
Proven ability in project and/or program management
