About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Food Safety Officer to join our growing team at LPH CATERING'. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety and hygiene. Your expertise and attention to detail will be crucial in maintaining our reputation for delivering safe, high-quality food products to our customers.
What you'll be doing
- Conducting regular inspections and audits of our food production facilities to monitor compliance with all relevant food safety regulations and standards
- Identifying and addressing any potential hygiene or safety issues, and implementing corrective actions to mitigate risks
- Providing training and guidance to production staff on food handling, cleaning procedures, and best practices in food hygiene
- Maintaining detailed records and documentation to demonstrate our compliance with all food safety requirements
- Liaising with regulatory authorities and external auditors to ensure our operations meet or exceed all necessary standards
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of our food safety management systems and processes
What we're looking for
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar food hygiene or quality assurance role, preferably within the catering or food manufacturing industry
- Strong working knowledge of food safety legislation, regulations, and industry best practices
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve potential food safety issues
- Proficient in conducting audits, inspections, and risk assessments
- Effective communication and training skills to engage with production staff at all levels
- Relevant diploma or qualification in food technology, food science, or a related discipline

The Scope
You will be part of Esco Aster’s Quality Assurance team and contribute towards the overall site mission and objectives. You will support the site’s GMP operational activities, product development, and product release to ensure compliance and meeting of quality requirements. You will be expected to assist the Quality Department to have an oversight on the site’s FSMS (Food Safety Management System)/ISO 22000 compliance and actively initiate and take part in continuous improvement programs.

Job Responsibilities
Execute the FSMS to support the batch release and auditing, to ensure each batch of product has been manufactured, tested, and approved for release in compliance with the applicable laws and regulations in force in the country of manufacture and applicable market authorizations.
Review manufacturing batch records, data forms, protocol, reports, and maintenance of pre-requisite programs.
Administer, review, and follow-up with Deviations and Investigations and correspondence Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPAs).
Trend and report quality systems related information (deviations, investigations, CAPAs).
Prepare and compile statistical quality data for client updates and project status reports on site’s quality performance.
Assist to track quality system related to Deviations and Investigations and correspondence Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPAs).
Interface and communicate with cross-functional teams to ensure that production batches are reviewed and released in a timely manner.
Support the review of reference standards of materials, and release of incoming materials.
Support internal audit and assist the hosting of regulatory and customer audits.
Sample preparation for third-party testing.
Ensure all team members adhere to code of practice in food hygiene and cleanroom behaviors by conducting inspection and trainings.
Liaise with the external laboratory to fulfill the food quality and safety testing requirements for novel food.
Undertake tasks assigned by leaders as and when appropriate.
Requirements
Diploma in relevant discipline.
Minimum 1-3 years of Quality Assurance/Quality Control work experience in either:
Food manufacturing industry, preferably fermentation/meat related processes.
Livestock farming.
Familiar and keeping up to date with current Singapore Food Regulations, with flexibility to change as needed due to new regulatory requirements and technologies, as relevant for clinical and commercial supply.
Familiar with HACCP and other food safety standards such as ISO22000.
Preferably possesses Food Safety Level 3 certification.
Experience with regulatory requirements such as by Singapore Food Agency and/or US FDA/USDA.
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Able to work independently, self-starter, self-motivated, and task-oriented.
Good communication skills and able to openly communicate and escalate any relevant issues.
Strong team player, develop positive relationships with a strong set of interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain discipline of team members without conflict.
Experience in Cellular Agriculture/novel food would be an advantage.
During the start-up phase of the facility, be willing to take on expanded role to set up workflow/processes for new projects.
