Job Overview:

• We are seeking a Business Development Specialist to join our team in developing and maintaining strong relationships with Japanese speaking customers, targeting restaurants, hotels, and other food service establishments.
• The successful candidate will actively promote and sell a variety of food products (including seasonal ingredients) to existing and potential customers along assigned routes
• The role also involves handling communications with Japanese suppliers in the Japanese language
• Candidates will take and process customer orders, ensuring accurate and timely deliveries
• To excel in this position, you must stay informed about the features and benefits of the food products being sold, and effectively communicate this information to customers
• Requirements:
• More than 2 years of experience in BtoB sales
• Prior experience in the food industry is highly advantageous
• A business level proficiency in Japanese is necessary to maintain relationships with Japanese speaking customers and handle Japanese speaking suppliers in Japan
• Motivation to pursue a career in food wholesale sales
• Excellent client relationship management skills

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assess New Product Development and be responsible for successful scale up and first production
• Support New Product Introduction including new process and projects as required
• Responsible to provide accurate mixing instructions and create new working instructions for Production operators accordingly
• Contribute to product/process optimization to increase profitability
• Work closely with cross-departments and various key stakeholders such as Supply Chain (Customer service, Production, Planning and Procurement), Quality, Sales and Suppliers.
• Contribute further to improvement projects such as productivity, quality and profit

This role involves supporting the development and implementation of new food products, specifically bread items. The candidate will be responsible for formulating and applying emulsifiers, conducting on-site trouble shooting, and providing technical advice to colleagues and clients.

• Develop innovative food improvers, formulation, and application
• On-site problem resolution at internal and external sites
• Liaise with colleagues and sales department to provide technical guidance and R&D support for food products
