About the RoleKey roles and responsibilities
1. Technical Support & Product Development
· Partner with the Technical Manager in all technical matters relating to design, manufacturing process control, and new product development.
· Liaise with Professional Engineers to obtain endorsed calculations for pressure-rated or blast-rated door sets.
· Support Sales and Processing departments on technical aspects concerning door performance requirements. (fire, acoustic, structural).
2. Testing & Compliance
· Coordinate fire, acoustic, and mock-up testing (internal/external), inspect test specimens, and interpret results.
· Prepare detailed test report while ensuring timely renewal of Certificates of Conformity.
· Ensure compliance with Singapore standards (BCA) and international certifications (ISO), and other certifications.
3. Process Improvement & Troubleshooting
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective action.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives for mechanical and electromechanical systems.
4. Documentation & Project Support
· Prepare and maintain accurate technical documentation, including test reports and performance summaries.
· Collaborate with department heads and process supervisors to troubleshoot issues and implement/monitor preventive and corrective actions for continuous improvement.
Requirements
Must-Have (Critical Core Skills):
· Bachelor's in mechanical / mechatronics engineering
· A minimum of 5 years of experience in designing for high mix low volume manufacturing environment
. Strong working knowledge of material properties and steel fabrication processes including welding
· Proficient in AutoCAD for architectural drafting.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Good-to-Have (Emerging Skills):
· Familiarity with Revit / BIM Modelling for door system integration.
· Knowledge in theoretical calculations related to the field of statics, dynamics and kinematics.
· Prior working experience in metal door manufacturing and fire certification testing.
