We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team, focusing on maintaining and improving our factory operations, machinery efficiency, and production processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Oversee daily operations of fabrication machinery (bridge cutters, water jet machines, polishing machines, profiling equipment, overhead cranes, forklifts).
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules for critical equipment.
- Process Improvement & Technical Support
- Optimize cutting, polishing, and finishing processes to improve efficiency and reduce material wastage.
- Provide technical support for quality control (QC) and ensure machinery is calibrated for precision cutting and profiling.
- Support factory supervisors in resolving production bottlenecks.
- Design & Technical Drawings
- Interpret and modify shop drawings for stone fabrication using AutoCAD LT
- Collaborate with sales, design, and factory teams to ensure accuracy between drawings and production.
- Assist in preparing fabrication and installation technical documents.
- Safety & Compliance
- Ensure equipment complies with workplace safety standards (MOM, BCA, SCAL where applicable).
- Support implementation of safety systems (dust collectors, PPE protocols, noise monitoring).
- Contribute to risk assessments and SOP development for fabrications and machinery use.
- Project & Technical Documentation
- Prepare technical reports, machine service logs, and operational manuals.
- Support procurement team in evaluating new machinery, spare parts, and tools.
- Provide input for factory layout planning and workflow efficiency.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 1–3 years' relevant experience (fresh graduates with strong technical knowledge may be considered).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD LT (2D drafting essential).
- Hands-on knowledge of industrial machines, CNC, water jet systems preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of workplace safety standards and preventive maintenance practices.
- Willingness to work on-site at the fabrication factory.

- Extensive knowledge of piping engineering, design principles, and mechanical systems for process plants
- Proficiency in relevant industry standards (ASME, ASTM, API, etc.) and Singapore codes of practice
- Strong understanding of materials selection, piping stress analysis, valves, and mechanical specifications
- Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate mechanical system cost estimations for tenders
- Proficient in MS Office applications
