General Description
The Research Office conducts in-depth analysis of financial markets, economic trends, and identifies investment opportunities. This involves monitoring global economic indicators, analyzing various asset classes, and producing reports that help clients make informed financial choices.
The Research Office comprises of:
- Chief Economist and Commodities and Currencies Research is responsible for the macroeconomics, foreign exchange, rates, and commodities research
- Fixed Income Research:
- Fixed Income Strategy: drives top-down asset allocation among the various global fixed income classes
- Fixed Income Analysis: conducts company research on bond issuers and develop financial models to determine credit quality of these bonds
- Equity Research conducts company research and develop financial models to arrive at an estimated fair value for the respective stocks and the stock rating
- Investment Strategy provides asset allocation within the context of constructing multi-asset wealth management portfolios and identifies key investment trends
Equity research analysts report to the Head of Equities Research; key duties include writing research reports, thought leadership pieces, and creating research impact across the CIO office, Discretionary Portfolio Management and Front Office. They are secondee to OCBC Investment Research (OIR) and publish reports under OIR brand.
Main Duties:
- Conduct fundamental research analysis on assigned sectors and bottom-up stock picking to derive investment recommendations and record of market outperformance and may interact with counterparties to understand market colour and trends
