Your day-to-day
Financial Returns:
Work with superior in the preparation and management of the department’s budget.
Co-ordinate the preparation of the departmental annual budget.
Monitor and control departmental cost on an ongoing basis to ensure performance against budget.
Assist in the preparation of the hotel strategic plan, goals program, and budget.
Ensure an up-to-date cash flow projection is maintained and maximizes cash flow performance of the hotel through controls on inventory, credit and collection, disbursement, deposits and remittances. Ensure excess cash is managed to maximize earning potential.
Prepare outlooks for forthcoming months and forecasts for the remainder of the year.
Analyse monthly financial accounts and provide financial information to management.
Ensure all accounts are reconciled on monthly basis, review and approve those reconciliations.
Prepare monthly bank and inventory reconciliations.
Prepare monthly/quarterly GST.
Evaluate existing internal control measures that apply to accounting procedures and computer systems as per IHG Policies and Procedures.
Employ adequate internal control procedures to ensure correct authorization for payment procedures.
Manage internal and external audits when they occur and work towards a successful audit result as prescribed by IHG.
Prepare monthly position of actual results against budget, analyse results and recommend to General Manager measures required to meet budget.
Responsible for month end closing including the IHG and owner reporting package.
Liaise with owner office, internal and external auditors.
Coordinate and administer CSA.
Ensure payments are made to IHG (All Fees and billings) as fast as possible.
Manage work flows of the Finance department.
Ensure proper update of contract, License, CAPEX, Fixed Asset Disposal Form and Carpark etc. timely and accurately.
Provide safekeeping, including proper storage and access for all contracts, leases and other financial records.
Recommend and maintain appropriate list of delegation of authority for hotel management.
Daily banking activities including opening, counting and closing.
Ensure all receipts for the shift are properly recorded, balanced and deposited in the hotel’s drop-safe (daily cash-drop sheet to be duly completed).
Prepare daily general cashier summary and ensure amount is deposited into the bank balance with the collections.
Analyse and investigate overages and shortages from cashiers, prepare overages and shortages summary, balance monthly for submission.
Escalate cashiering problems, cashier’s overages, shortages and reconcile discrepancies, if any.
Monitor hotel exchange rates and adjust as necessary in PMS.
Ensure all necessary documents are attached and process petty cash reimbursement as required and reconcile on a weekly basis/when required.
Report directly to and communicate with the General Manager on all matters pertaining to accounting and financial controls.
People:
Supervise, direct and manage Finance staff and outsourced accounting team (BSC team, India) for accurate maintenance of accounting books and timely reporting.
Cooperate, coordinate and communicate with other departments on accounting related and internal control matters.
Work with superior on manpower planning and management needs.
Interact, as required, with individuals outside the hotel including hotel’s bank, tax auditors and other hotels and IHG corporate offices.
Manage day-to-day activities, plan and assign work, and establish performance and development goals for team members.
Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to help manage conflict, improve team members’ performance and recognise good performance.
Ensure training needs analysis of Finance staff is carried out and training programmes are designed and implemented to meet needs.

You’ll have ambition, talent and obviously, some key skills. Reporting to the General Manager, we’re looking for someone who:
Manages and supervises all members in the Finance department within the property.
Assists and provides financial guidance in the formulation and implementation of Strategic Plan, Budget and Key Performance Objectives, Cash flow projection and performance through controls on inventory, credit and collection, disbursements, deposits and remittances.
Prepares monthly position of actual results against budget, analyse results and recommend to Executive Committee Members measures required to meet budget.
Prepare consolidated quarterly position assessments for the General Manager.
Communicate with Owners.
Evaluate and employ internal control measures that apply to accounting procedures and computer systems.
Manage internal and external audits when they occur.
Provides administrative support to Management with reference to policy enforcement, business advice and operational assistance.
Obtains appropriate legal counsel regarding the business practices of the hotel and maintains an awareness of local laws, rules and regulations.
Capital expenditure compliance and approval.
Recommends and maintains appropriate list of delegation of authority for hotel management.
Reviews prices and recommends pricing strategy to the General Manager.
Implements and maintains acceptable accounting practices and procedures as required by InterContinental Hotels Group Policy, generally accepted accounting practices, and as affected by local conditions.
