Job Summary:
The Application Engineer provides assistance to customers in the usage of our CAE solutions, while leveraging knowledge, experience and relationships to assist in growing our business across ASEAN.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for pre- and post-sales technical support of Ansys Mechanical software, in one or more of the following industries: semiconductor & electronics, turbomachinery, oil & gas, marine & offshore, chemical processing, automotive, aerospace or defense.
- Maintain close relationship with existing key accounts to ensure continuing contracts / services.
- Good understanding of the manufacturing industry as well as proven track record in utilizing computer-aided engineering (CAE) solutions are advantageous. The job involves conducting technical presentations, providing software application support, conducting product training and providing consultancy services.
- Assisting the sales team in undertaking sales related activities including lead generation, account management and marketing.
Qualifications:
- Candidate must possess at least a degree in mechanical, aerospace, chemical, manufacturing or civil engineering, or related specialization.
- Industrial experience in utilizing FEA software is advantageous. Strong background in using Ansys Mechanical or comparable FEA simulation software is preferred.
- Experience in utilizing Explicit Dynamics tools (LS-DYNA or Autodyn) for Crashworthiness, impact, drop test, and forming is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Product Design, Manufacturing Processes, DOE/Optimization, Reduced Order Models, and FMEA is advantageous.
- At least 1 year of working experience, preferably related to semiconductor, electronics, turbomachinery, oil & gas, chemical processing, marine/offshore, automotive, aerospace or defense industries.
- Must be technically competent, sales-oriented, resourceful, self-motivated, independent & possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to work in a team and independently with minimum supervision.
- Able to work under pressure and adapt to different environment / platform as necessary.
- Must be willing to learn and prepared to travel.
