The role conducts equity research and fundamental stock selection analysis to provide investment recommendations to the portfolio management team (consisting of the Chief Investment Officer and General Manager, Investment) and internal clients, and to assist with the management of the equity portfolios. The role will be part of a team of generalist equity analysts covering global equities.
The role requires strong analytical and financial modelling skills, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the screening of stock ideas, idea generation, bottom-up fundamental analysis, and due diligence of companies in order to make investment recommendations in-line with the team's investment processes.
- Ability to apply bottom-up fundamental approach to equity research.
- Carry out due diligence on companies including conducting interviews with company management, competitors, suppliers, and customers where possible.
- Prepare financial models and written investment recommendations incorporating financial analysis and qualitative due diligence.
- Communicating investment ideas to the portfolio management team.
- Conduct ongoing due diligence and monitoring of portfolio companies.
- Monitor sector, market and economic conditions and assess their impact on portfolios.
- Assisting the portfolio managers with the management of the equity portfolios.
- Provide investment advisory services to internal clients where required.
QUALIFICATION & SKILLS REQUIRED
- Bachelor degree in a related field.
- Additional professional certification, e.g. CFA preferred.
- A minimum of 6-8 years' experience of fundamental equity research on the buy-side or sell-side.
- Experience in researching stocks on a global basis preferred.
- Strong financial modelling experience, backed by a strong understanding of valuation and accounting methodologies and principles.
- Strong knowledge of investing and financial markets, particularly in the equity asset class.
- Intellectual curiosity & honesty.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Bloomberg.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.

Requirements
