Position Summary:

Lumileds is seeking a highly-qualified Engineer to take responsibility for Equipment ownership, ensuring equipment indices like MTBF, MTTR, uptime are met. Work with process and industrial engineers and Manufacturing to address issues pertaining to hardware. Work with vendors on equipment retrofit, upgrades and CIP.

What You Will Do:

• Equipment owner for PVD (Sputtering or evaporation) tool of Thermal Processing (Furnace or Rapid Thermal Process) tool
• Drive equipment fault investigations and continuous improvement programs to resolve chronic equipment issues and implement permanent resolutions to assure product quality and enhance process robustness.
• Maintain optimum utilization of equipment and resources, drive MTBF, MTTR and increase equipment throughput.
• Establish equipment maintenance controls, review and perform regular update of PM procedures, Risks Assessments and Troubleshooting guidelines.
• Perform simple modification on PVD (Sputter or Evaporator) or Thermal processing (Furnace or RTP) production equipment to improve machine efficiency and reliability.
• Work with Equipment Supplier for tool retrofit and to resolve equipment issue
• Drive cost reduction to weed out unwarranted expenses/wastages and improve equipment performance.
• Work on projects to establish alternate supplier to reduce cost
• Establish sufficient essential spares and consumables stock levels to support equipment maintenance.
• Lead and guide shift technicians on all equipment maintenance. Provide effective equipment trainings to the technicians to build up their technical competencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager. Duties will vary according to the project progress and/or the specific goals of the module.

What You Will Bring (REQUIRED Qualifications):

• Tool experience in SPTS sputter, Endura Sputtering equipment.
• Hands-on experience working on PVD (sputter/evaporation) or Thermal Annealing/Diffusion tools is required.
• Candidate with strong vacuum and plasma technical knowledge or has similar working experience in equipment maintenance is welcome to apply.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including facilities and layout teams, to plan and implement tool installations, minimizing downtime and ensuring smooth transitions.
Coordinate the installation, qualification, and commissioning of equipment, ensuring they meet all specified requirements and standards.
Serve as the first line of defense to solve tool-related issues and work with vendors on tool maintenance and repair promptly.
Collaborate with Boise TD equipment development peers on deciding equipment technology choices for advanced nodes and translating future technology needs into clear equipment requirements.
Integrate tool data into Micron software and systems for data processing and equipment monitoring.
Manage equipment development projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and prioritization, to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
Lead and participate in continuous yield improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for all equipment service and development activities as needed.
Cultivate positive relationships with suppliers, vendors, and cross-functional teams to support equipment service and development initiatives.
Communicate effectively with team members, collaborators, and management to provide updates on project progress and technical insights.
Requirements
Minimum Associate Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering
A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the semiconductor industry in equipment engineer roles.
In-depth understanding of equipment operation, working principles, troubleshooting, and tool installation procedures is a must.
Self-motivated and adaptable to Micron’s fast-paced, challenging, and dynamic work environment.
Problem-solving approach with a drive for finding effective solutions.

The scope of this role is to improve, streamline and automate manufacturing and other processes to reduce the need for human intervention and maximize efficiency. They are responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring.

To support the Balloon Catheter line or Extrusion, Braid and Shaft Coil line in Singapore and develop, improves manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods in all areas of the Quasar Singapore.

Include the following:

· Sets up the automation of manufacturing processes govern the production and delivery of products.

· To streamline the manufacturing process, radically increase productivity and make it as efficient as possible while still maintaining product quality and adhering to internal protocols and external regulations.

· Design, create, generate tools, jigs and fixture for the new line or customer or product. To improve, streamline and automate manufacturing and other processes to reduce the need for human intervention and maximise efficiency.

· Identify new opportunities for automation within the manufacturing process, developing and maintaining clear and accurate documentation, designing new automation equipment or processes or tools, jigs and fixtures.

· Writing reports outlining new concepts, testing outcomes, and ongoing efficiency.

· Troubleshooting automated processes or equipment when errors occur.

· Process troubleshooting, refinements to improve product throughput, design of fixtures and assembly techniques.

· Process qualifications and validations including equipment qualifications and material specifications.

· Responsible for Health & Safety within assigned areas to include accident investigation and corrective action.

· Investigate state-of-the-art process technologies and evaluate potential competitive advantage and the cost benefit of introduction.

· Oversee and drive Validation Activities.

Job Summary:

The SMT Assistant Equipment Engineer is responsible for the setup, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) equipment used in the assembly of printed circuit boards (PCBs). This role ensures optimal equipment performance, minimizes downtime, and supports high-quality production by performing both preventive and corrective maintenance, machine calibrations, and technical support across the SMT production lines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and set up SMT machines including screen printers, pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, AOI, and SPI systems.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance as per OEM guidelines to reduce unexpected equipment failures.
