Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all statutory acts and regulations, company safety rules and regulations, and code of practice are implemented and complied with by all staff. This includes reviewing and recommending necessary changes to the safety management system to keep it updated with applicable local legislation.
In addition, the candidate will conduct safety training related to activities based on Safe Work Procedure/Risk Assessment, manage safety audits on site, review risk assessments and risk management internally and externally, and conduct monthly WSH Committee Meetings and put up safety reports.
The candidate will also enforce house rules on all stakeholders and take action when necessary for noncompliance, work closely with the project team to eliminate security, safety, health, and environment hazards, ensure legal compliance to all statutory safety and environmental regulations, and timely submission of mandatory documents.
Liaising with relevant authorities on matters pertaining to occupational safety and health is also a key responsibility, as well as advising the Project Manager/Operations Director on occupational safety and health matters.
The candidate will inspect sites to ensure all facilities and equipment relevant to the maintenance of environmental health are in proper working condition, manage incidents' investigations, recommend corrective actions, and follow-up on the implementations and effectiveness of actions taken.
Reviewing and maintaining site's environmental, health, and safety records, ensuring PTW supporting documents are valid and in place for operational performance, and performing other duties as assigned by the Project Manager or Operations Director are also essential responsibilities.
