What will you do?
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Environmental Consultant (Environmental Control Officer) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the Environmental Management & Monitoring Plan (EMMP) at various construction sites. This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced professionals and fresh graduates interested in making a positive impact on the environment.

- Conduct daily and bi-weekly site inspections and audits to ensure strict adherence to Environmental Management and Monitoring Programme (EMMP) requirements at construction sites.
- Oversee and coordinate monthly environmental monitoring activities including fauna, flora, arboriculture, water and air quality, noise, and vibration measurements performed by contractors.
- Manage the implementation and operation of the Information Management System (IMS), monitoring real-time environmental data from ECM and noise meters to promptly identify and address non-compliance issues via dedicated apps.
- Collaborate closely with contractors, EMMP consultants, and specialists to ensure effective environmental compliance, serve as the primary company contact for EMMP matters, and prepare detailed monthly Environmental Performance Reports (EPR).
- Deliver regular biodiversity awareness training to construction personnel, develop method statements and risk assessments for monitoring activities, and support the EMMP team with project execution and other environmental sustainability initiatives.

- Candidates must be a NEA registered Environmental Control Officer (ECO) or currently in the process of obtaining this certification.
- Physically fit and able to work long hours at construction sites.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience is preferred, but fresh graduates are welcome to apply as relevant training will be provided.
- A Diploma or Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental & Water Technology, Environmental Science, Environmental Biology, or other related qualifications will be considered.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Management and Delivery:
- Manage and perform multiple projects simultaneously to ensure timely delivery of high-quality deliverables.

- Stay up to date with relevant laws, regulations, and standards pertaining to environmental and sustainability practices in Singapore and other countries in Asia.
- Advise clients on regulatory requirements and best practices to promote a culture of environmental stewardship and sustainability.
4. Other duties as may be required to support the needs of the business.
Qualifications:
- A recognized degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- Proven track record of at least five years in the environmental consultancy or related industry experience. Candidates with fewer years of experience may also be considered based on relevant skills and accomplishments.
- Experience in leading and/or performing environmental projects including environmental compliance audits, environmental due diligence (EDD), environmental impact assessments (EIA), pollution control studies (PCS), environmental site assessments (ESA), contaminated site remediation, environmental management & monitoring planning (EMMP), greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reporting, and / or zero waste to landfill transition initiatives would be an advantage.
- Able to effectively lead and motivate project team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Able to effectively engage and work with different external stakeholders (e.g. clients, contractors, government agencies, NGOs, etc.).
- Excellent written, verbal communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations, sustainability frameworks, and industry best practices would be an advantage.
- Project management skills, and professional membership relevant to environmental and sustainability would be an advantage.

The Department of Architecture in the College of Design and Engineering is ranked among the top 10 in the world, and Asia’s best in Architecture/Built Environment, based on the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings (2024). It offers the professionally accredited Master of Architecture programme as well as a range of graduate and undergraduate programmes in related fields such as urban planning/design, landscape architecture and conservation. The faculty is correspondingly diverse and international. Qualifications
The Department seeks a forward-thinking and energetic candidate for the position of Assistant Professor (Practice Track) who will contribute to graduate programmes in urban planning and design. We are particularly interested in candidates who are able to work across disciplines to address pressing environmental, urban, and social challenges in Asia. Research expertise in physical planning, urban development and governance, geo-spatial analysis, climate resilience and social equity is highly desired.
Applicants for the Practice track position should hold a relevant graduate degree (Master or above) by the time of appointment. Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in professional practice and demonstrate the potential to be a leader in a domain of specialization. A good professional network in the Asian region that can enrich the student experience and raise the profile of the Department will be an advantage. The successful candidate will lead urban design and planning studios in the various graduate degree programmes offered by the Department. In addition, he/she is expected to teach core courses and electives based on his/her specialization.
