The group also evaluates emission control and mitigation scenarios to provide science-based policy recommendations for a sustainable environment and healthier populations in the present and future.**Key Responsibilities:**The position will be required to establish multi-city land-use regression modeling for climate/weather/air pollution predictions, develop the maps of population exposures to extreme climate/weather/air pollution and health risks in Southeast Asia, and identify key risks of climate change to cardio-respiratory/mental health based on the epidemiological model. What the role is:
This is a 2-year position as a Lecturer in the School of Life Sciences & Chemical Technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering Continuing Education and Training (CET) and Pre-Employment Training (PET) programmes in the areas of environmental sustainability, water technology, and waste management.
What you will be working on:
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Design, develop and deliver in-person/online lectures, tutorials, practicals, assessments and marking for full-time and part-time courses in environmental science and sustainability, environmental engineering, water technology and carbon management
Be available to teach at least 1 evening per week and/or on weekends for CET classes
Conduct business development in the environmental industry to drive CET courses, "Industry in Curriculum" and projects.
Supervise and facilitate student-industry collaboration projects
Collaborate with industry on training, applied research and/or consultancy projects to stay relevant in your profession.
Contribute to student-related events (such as leading student overseas trips) and outreach activities.
Mentor students in character development and career readiness
Provide pastoral care for students
Carry out administrative duties to support academic and school operations
What we are looking for:
Relevant qualifications in Civil/Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
Relevant teaching experience or at least 3 years of relevant industry experience in the area of civil or environmental engineering

Responsibilities

• Monitor and report ship emissions (EU MRV, IMO DCS, CII).
• Prepare and maintain SEEMP I, II & III plans (incl. newbuild approvals).
• Manage EU ETS compliance, including MOHA account, EUA trading & surrender.
• Ensure timely submissions via Thetis MRV Portal.
• Coordinate verifications with accredited authorities.
• Oversee PMS development for new vessels and updates for existing fleet.

Education

• Educational Qualifications: A degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in safety or environmental management (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO 14001, OSHA) are preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a safety officer or environmental control officer role, ideally within an industrial, manufacturing, or construction setting. Experience in conducting safety audits, inspections, and environmental assessments is essential.
• Skills and Competencies: Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices is necessary. Proficiency in risk assessment and implementation of safety management systems is also required.

Identify potential mosquito breeding grounds and take preventive/remedial action.
Monitor noise, dust, silty discharge and humidity levels, and recommend actions required when limits are exceeded.
Oversee the treatment and discharge of silty water from the site to prevent pollution of public drains.
Ensure proper site housekeeping, including cleanliness of public roads and drains along the site perimeter.
Liaise with regulatory bodies (e.g., NEA, PUB) during inspections, investigations, and compliance audits.
Conduct awareness campaigns, e.g., Heat Stress Prevention, Hearing Protection.
Prepare and submit monthly reports to NEA, site management and Client, including presentations.
Assist in coordinating Green and Gracious Builder, ConSaSS Audit.
