What will you do?
In this position you will join our Singapore Environment and Planning business, where you will play an integral part in a team of highly skilled specialists that ‘bring ideas to life’ for our clients across all types of the environmental projects.
We know the work we do is vital in assisting our world’s economic development and, it’s the technical expertise and the depth of knowledge of our people that really sets us apart. Here are the key things you will do to ‘bring ideas to life’.
Conduct daily site inspections to ensure contractors adhere to EMMP requirements.
Perform bi-weekly audits of environmental compliance at construction sites.
Oversee the monthly monitoring of fauna, flora, arboriculture, water quality, air quality, noise, and vibration by the Contractors.
Manage the implementation of the Information Management System (IMS) and monitor real-time data from ECM and noise meters.
Utilise dedicated apps to flag non-compliance issues and monitor rectification by contractors within a defined timeframe.
Liaise and coordinate with contractors, EMMP Consultants, and specialists to ensure effective implementation of EMMP measures.
Serve as the primary point of contact for the company regarding environmental compliance matters.
Compile and analyse environmental monitoring data from contractors to prepare monthly Environmental Performance Reports (EPR).
Conduct regular biodiversity awareness training for construction site personnel.
Develop comprehensive method statements and risk assessments for environmental monitoring activities.
Collaborate with EMMP team members to execute projects effectively and efficiently.
Support in other projects as needed.

Candidates
MUST
be a NEA registered Environmental Control Officer (ECO) or currently in the process of obtaining this certification.
Physically fit and able to work long hours at construction sites.
A minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience is preferred, but fresh graduates are welcome to apply as relevant training will be provided.
A Diploma or Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental & Water Technology, Environmental Science, Environmental Biology, or other related qualifications will be considered.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Develop sustainability and regenerative strategies and proposals at all scales and design stages of projects in the built environment
• Coordinate strategies and proposals for ESD, ESG and carbon assessments with in-house teams, project clients, other consultants and stakeholders
• Demonstrate good knowledge of environmental design, sustainability and carbon benchmarking, building energy optimisation, daylight & shading design, sustainable systems, materials, biodiversity, carbon assessment, energy, water and waste systems and building physics
• Coordinate, complete and ensure Green Rating in projects in any given green and carbon rating scheme (Green Mark, LEED etc.)
• Appreciate the need for the development and application of consistent standards and metrics
• Complete simulations such as energy modelling, CFD, daylight & glare modelling etc. to provide accurate calculations and informed design options
• Develop appropriate design, proposals or analysis within the agreed timeline
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, guiding and supporting project teams, ensuring effective coordination and communication

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

• Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, Architecture, Building Science or related disciplines
• Min 2 years’ experience in environmental consultancy, research or related fields
• Genuine interest in Sustainability and Regenerative Design and commitment to continuous professional development
• Commitment to developing specialist skills in one or more disciplines
• Interest in AI, automation and new technologies an added advantage
• Good knowledge of sustainability principles, rating and certification schemes and ESG frameworks
• Professional certification such as GMAP / LEED AP / WELL AP a plus but not required
• Proficiency in Revit, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, knowledge of softwares such as Grasshopper, Ladybug/Honeybee, Radiance, eQuest, EnergyPlus, IES, D3, or general programming or data visualization skill would be of interest
• Strong graphic and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Good writing skills for written reports and publications
• Ability to work under limited supervision and as a supportive team member

Overview

Our Client are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Environmental Consultant to manage and perform environmental & sustainability projects in Singapore and the Asia region.

• Project Management and Delivery: Manage and perform multiple projects simultaneously to ensure timely delivery of high-quality deliverables. Manage project team and providing leadership, guidance, and support to achieve performance targets.
• Client Engagement and Relationship Management: Act as the point of contact for clients, addressing their needs, concerns, and inquiries promptly and effectively. Conduct regular client meetings to assess satisfaction levels, gather feedback, and identify opportunities for service improvement. Collaborate with clients to understand their environmental and sustainability goals, offering tailored solutions to meet their specific requirements. Foster long-term relationships with clients through exceptional service delivery and value-added offerings. Identify new project opportunities and prepare and submit proposals.
• Compliance and Regulatory Management: Stay up to date with relevant laws, regulations, and standards about environmental and sustainability practices in Singapore and other countries in Asia. Advise clients on regulatory requirements and best practices to promote a culture of environmental stewardship and sustainability.

• A recognised degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Proven track record of at least five years in the environmental consultancy or related industry experience. Candidates with fewer years of experience may also be considered based on relevant skills and accomplishments.
• Experience in leading and/or performing environmental projects including environmental compliance audits, environmental due diligence (EDD), environmental impact assessments (EIA), pollution control studies (PCS), environmental site assessments (ESA), contaminated site remediation, environmental management & monitoring planning (EMMP), greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reporting, and/or zero waste to landfill transition initiatives would be an advantage.
• Able to effectively lead and motivate project team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Able to effectively engage and work with different external stakeholders (e.g. clients, contractors, government agencies, NGOs, etc.).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Reporting to the General Manager, the individual will work within the Global Advisory & Consulting team, in close collaboration with the organization’s vast engineering, technology, and scientific resource base.

Job responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

• Lead consulting engagements in the areas of impact assessments, technical discipline-specific consulting and/or multi-media permitting.
• Lead client engagements across the project lifecycle.

• Bachelor's Degree in environmental science or engineering, social sciences, planning, geography, or related field
• At least 20 years of consulting experience with environmental and social impact assessment, working substantially with the oil and gas, power, chemicals and infrastructure sectors
• Experience in managing multinational projects, especially in Asia.
• At least 3 years of team management experience with advisory/consulting firms, with demonstrated capability to grow the business.
• Proven capability in delivering high-end advisory/consulting projects and managing key stakeholders is essential
• Experience in working at executive/C-suite/C-1 levels, negotiating G2G/G2B business opportunities.
• Knowledge of widely accepted sustainability frameworks and standards, as well as proven record of working with them
• Knowledge of modelling software (Aermod/ WindPro, SoundPlan, etc.), is desired
