This team is well staffed with experts in every time zone and, while the work can be challenging sometimes, the team is resourced to ensure a good work-life balance and ongoing development of each team member.

As an engineering manager in the Sustaining Engineering team, your primary responsibility is to the people you support: ensuring that they are growing as engineers, making valuable contributions, and generally having a great experience at Canonical. • Oversee the setup of project stores.
• Coordinate with teams and contractors to manage the storage, tagging, and identification of spare parts upon delivery.

General Responsibilities

Store Operations Management:

• Manage inventory control systems and stock levels.
• Implement and maintain storage procedures.
• Ensure the proper receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials.
• Maintain accurate inventory records.
• Prepare monthly and yearly store reports for management.
• Plan and prepare for internal and external store audits.
• Supervise warehouse housekeeping and safety standards.

Personnel Management:

• Lead and supervise store personnel (Store Manager).
• Train staff on proper storage and handling procedures.
• Coordinate work schedules and assignments.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Administrative Duties:

• Process requisition orders and documentation.
• Maintain storage facility records.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments.
• Manage stock reconciliation.
• Prepare periodic reports on inventory status.
• Implement cost-control measures.

Quality Control:

• Ensure proper storage conditions for materials.
• Monitor shelf life of stored items.
• Conduct regular stock checks.
• Maintain storage facility standards.
• Implement proper material handling procedures.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in store/warehouse operations.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental laws and statutory regulations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• A Forklift Operator License is an advantage.
