Description:
As a Manufacturing Test Engineer with Fluke Electronics, you will be tasked with analyzing, developing, implementing, and maintaining manufacturing methods, operation sequences, specifications, and equipment requirements for calibration/test of new and existing products. You will support released products and assist with the deployment of new products into the manufacturing environment. You will be a major contributor to and owner of key performance indicators in Operations, including: 5S/Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity, as well as project management. This position is based in Singapore with travel expectations of 25-50%.
Responsibilities:
+ As directed, oversee Fluke's contract manufacturing
+ Support, maintain, and improve test systems throughout the factory
+ Develop processes and procedures used in the manufacturing process
+ Review test results to drive quality improvements through root cause and countermeasure of failures
+ Perform manufacturing engineering assignments associated with the integrity of product design to ensure quality and cost-effective production

Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's or higher degree in electrical engineering, electromechanical engineering, mechanical engineering, etc.

+ Leadership experience within a team, project, or job desired
+ Ability to handle high pressures, prioritize workload, and understand impact of duties required

The Design & Engineering (D&E) team drives the technology, innovation, new development, quality and engineering excellence of data center infrastructure across Vantage’s companywide portfolio. D&E evaluates the technical viability of new sites, drives engineering solutions, cost and scheduling efficiencies in line with corporate goals, and serves as subject matter experts across the entire project lifecycle from concept design through to commissioning.
The D&E team collaborates strongly with Sales, Operations, regional management, and global innovation groups along the way. D&E also works hand in hand with the Construction team to develop and drive a vertically integrated design and ensures existing standards, regulatory frameworks and designs are managed and executed effectively, across our diverse APAC existing market, plus will support the strategic positioning of Vantage’s successful entry into emerging markets.

Position Description
Vantage is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer, to be our Electrical engineering design and assurance activities across the APAC. We offer a professionally challenging and dynamic operating environment with responsibilities around new site development, facilitating design excellence before feeding into the construction process, as well as facility adapts for our key customers.
Our preference is for this role to be based in Singapore.
You will play a key role in the design production team that leads design and engineering for the largest individual cost center within the construction process and become engaged in all technical aspects. In this role, you will be responsible for high-level schematic system design, specification development, submittal review, design document review, management of design-build contractors, oversight of installation, participation in commissioning, and transition to operations.
Regular collaboration and proactive coordination is required with architectural, civil/structural, mechanical, security, automation and BMS contractors, as well as the construction management, project management teams and the equipment procurement team. You will be presented with complex engineering challenges and be asked to bring them to resolution with all the tools at your disposal. You will ensure existing design standards are executed and enhanced for each project, underpinned by your strong understanding of regional Regulations and Electrical standards which vary across our operating portfolio. You will evaluate designs and provide engineering analysis to balance CAPEX and OPEX costs. Customer interface is necessary throughout design and construction.
You will provide technical engineering information and assistance to ensure that new datacenter facilities comply with our bespoke customer requirements, are aligned with regional and global Vantage standards (as applicable), with unique the project requirements, all engineering standards, applicable codes, and specifications. A strong and broad knowledge across of all aspects of electrical engineering is required, including UPS systems, generators, distribution topologies, utility integration, switchgear design and implementation, fault level and arc flash analysis, sequence of operations, and value engineering as they relate to designing state-of-the-art datacenters. A strong understanding of communications, electronic security, vertical transportation and controls/monitoring is also recommended.
Essential Job Functions
- Manage our external MEP design consultants throughout the design and construction process.
- Work with a team of design, engineering and construction professionals on a wide variety of conceptual design and build projects and site adapts.
- Serve as a technical subject matter expert (SME) including review of electrical systems, evaluating HV/MV topology design options, sequence of operations, conduit & containment proposals, sequence of operations, cable calculations, BIM reviews, electrical protection & arc flash studies and commissioning scripts.
- Utilize engineering analysis programs and professional judgment to analyze loads, lighting levels, short-circuit currents including:
- Lighting photometric studies
- Short-circuit and overcurrent protection device coordination studies.
- Electrical protection coordination studies.
- Arc Flash protection and magnitude mitigation studies.
- Distribution analysis, including: voltage drop and underground duct bank heat effect (Neher-McGrath) calculations.
- Liaise and coordinate with other Vantage SMEs for the review of communications, electronic security, vertical transportation and controls/monitoring.
- Coordinate with external design teams including M&E consultants, C&S consultants, architects, design/build contractors, power authorities and equipment vendors.
- Effectively communicate design standards, local and building code regulatory considerations to internal and external project partners across APAC region.
- Communicate conceptual designs, Safety in Design (SiD considerations and mitigation measures), and create/maintain project documentation before, during, and after construction.
- Develop and maintain design standards, design prototypes, and template specifications related to site designs and supporting infrastructure.
- Coordinate with Due Diligence and Commercial teams to help inform and determine site selection criteria in relation to electrical and telecommunications infrastructure and review Due Diligence reports.
- Create, review, and manage related design aspects of RFPs.
- Be adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously. Foresee and manage internal expectations regarding project-specific costs and schedules variables, contributing to CapeX modelling and optioneering; lead initiatives aimed at improving cost, quality, schedule, and consistency.
- Support construction and any testing / commissioning activities as needed at site.
- Travel for site assessments, internal design meetings, construction review, and interfacing with authorities having jurisdiction.
- Having a sound knowledge on modular design, alternative standby-power and other innovative designs / technologies.
- Additional duties as required by management.
Skills, Experience & Attributes
- A leader in your field of expertise with credible personal brand, actively demonstrating a commitment to data center electrical design and engineering best practice, personal professional development, and data centre industry engagement.
- Accredited degree and up to date local certifications in Electrical Engineering. Singapore or other regional Professional Engineering certification is preferred but not required.

- Strong design management, problem solving and analytical skills and demonstratable experience.
- Minimum 10 years electrical engineering experience on complex building projects (e.g. telecommunications, process, semiconductor, pharmaceutical etc.)
- Data Center experience is essential in this role; experience in APAC construction markets is required.
- Working knowledge of critical power infrastructure within a data center project from external power supply, to end circuit supply to the racks.
- Proficiency in electrical design software e.g. PowerCAD, ETAP, AmpCalc or equivalent.
- Proficient with other construction development software including REVIT, AutoCAD, BIM360/Navisworks and MS Office Suite.
- Proficiency in building codes, fire codes, regulations, and local, regional and international standards.
- Experience interpreting and creating construction drawings, specifications and submittal documents.
- Excellent teamwork and leadership skills. There is an expectation that this role will eventually have direct reports and/or mentor junior engineers.
