Your Job

As a Principal Development Process Engineer, your primary purpose will be to lead and support the product development process by ensuring robust product design and efficient manufacturability across low and high-volume production. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify design limitations, develop manufacturing strategies, and drive tooling development while incorporating innovative technologies and techniques to meet customer expectations and business objectives.


Our Team

You will be joining DSS, a global division known for its expertise in connector and cable manufacturing processes, including molding, stamping, plating, and assembly. In this role, you will work alongside a highly skilled team comprising product and SI engineers, tooling process engineers, and manufacturing engineers across different plants, ensuring seamless collaboration to support product development and manufacturing excellence.


What You Will Do

  • Knowledge of connector/cable manufacturing processes; molding, stamping, plating and assembly and lead a focused team consisting of product and SI engineers, all tooling PE’s and plants ME function to support product development process ensuring robust product design and manufacturability in low and high volumes.
  • Identify limitations of the proposed product design and suggest improvements to meet DFM and inspection guidelines to successfully launch new products.
  • Provide feedback on process critical dimensions and product features.
  • Identify and lead any proof-of-concept work required in early design stage to verify use of new technology or concepts in product or process design to reduce risk and improve profitability.
  • Develop manufacturing strategies for new products and drive the tooling development process to meet customer’s expectations of quality and optimal cost and lead-time. This involves working with product, marketing management, finance and senior management on analysis of multiple scenarios using global cost analysis to arrive at optimal solution.
  • Execute manufacturing strategies to support all phases of product development process (prototype thru high volume production).
  • Work with Stamping Die, Mold and Automation PE’s in selecting and managing internal and external suppliers to ensure successful project completion through concept, design, build, debug and qualification.
  • Working with respective tooling PEs to ensure successful transfer of all tooling processes and equipment to NPI and manufacturing plants. Work with NPI / plant MEs as needed to debug new products and processes to validate product performance and meet customer needs – delivery, quality and performance.
  • Support production plant MEs in ramp up of new products as well as required capacity additions.
  • Detailed understanding of automation - concepts, parts transfer devices, machine controls and inspection techniques.
  • Ability to develop specifications on automated process and equipment.
  • Ability to debug and qualify high-speed assembly equipment, as well as manual processes and tooling. This requires problem solving and organizational skills including root cause analysis.
  • Knowledge of mechanism design coupled with strong math and mechanism analysis skills.
  • Ability to research, develop and implement new technology and manufacturing techniques.
  • Support plant GLSS projects to improve cost and quality.
  • Utilize concepts and methods to optimize manufacturing processes and daily activities.
  • Successfully complete all required DPE PDP (Product Development Process) elements for each assigned project.
  • Understand, support and contribute to current Molex Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S) management Systems by following stated policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent, based on experience and training.
  • 10 years’ experience in mechanical engineering related to the manufacture and assembly of precision electromechanical components.
  • Experience with synchronous, asynchronous, flexible (robotics) and manual assembly systems.
  • Min 8 years’ experience in project management.
  • Working knowledge of SPC and DOE
  • Experience in tooling cost estimating, quote preparation and project management
  • Ability to maintain trust and confidentiality, job requires handling very confidential and new product and financial information.
  • Good organizational skills to handle lots of complex technical data and manage multiple competing project priorities
  • General understanding of basic accounting for forecasting, estimating, budget preparation and business investment justification for preparing quotes and applied cost analysis.
  • Computer skills: 3-D CAD, Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, flow charting software like Visio etc.
  • Strong knowledge of GLSS principles and the ability to lead a quality or cost improvement team to successful resolution
  • Project management skills that demonstrate the ability to set goals and handle multiple competing priorities to complete projects in a systematic and timely manner



What Will Put You Ahead

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • 8 years’ experience in connector manufacturing processes ranging from low to high volume production.
  • 8 years minimum hands-on experience in design, build and debug of assembly equipment.

Job description:
Join the Contract Management team at Changi Airport Group (Singapore) Pte Ltd, where you'll lead procurement and strategy development, ensure compliance with governance and procedures, and drive innovative changes across cost and contract management processes. This role requires strong collaboration with project teams and external consultants and a proactive approach to digital transformation.
Key Responsibilities
Provide cost advice and prepare cost estimates and Estimated Procurement Value (EPV).
Monitor validity of security deposit and insurance policies; manage extensions when required.
Conduct cost monitoring and control; advise project team on contractual and financial matters throughout pre-and post-contract stages.
Evaluate monthly contractor claims, conduct site assessments, and prepare timely payment certificates.
Assess variation costs and prepare Request for Approval of Variation (RFAV)/ Request for Commitment of Provisional Sum (RFCPS) for approval; assist with issuance of instructions.
Close out project accounts efficiently.
Build and maintain cost database; perform cost analysis and provide actionable insights.
Identify and implement opportunities for streamlining processes.
Lead initiatives in digital transformation and innovation in contract management.
Requirements
More than 6 years of experience working in contract drafting, procurement, and administration for Builder's and Civil Works.
Experience in Mechanical & Electrical procurement and contract management is a strong advantage.
Degree in Cost and Contract Management or related field (or equivalent qualification).
Solid understanding of contract law and practical application.
Able to work independently with a cost-conscious mindset.
Creative, detail-oriented, and strong in analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proactive, quick learner with excellent interpersonal abilities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Team player with high self-motivation, multitasking capability, and composure in dynamic environments.
