The key scope of work for the position is to provide operational support for Energy Management Systems, which involves round-the-clock monitoring and control of electricity generators as well as electricity and natural gas transmission networks. Additionally, the role includes operating a Cybersecurity Operation Centre to monitor cybersecurity threats and manage Power Sector Critical Information Infrastructure incidents.
Energy Management System
Provide first-level technical support to ensure high availability and reliability of the Energy Management System, including attending to technical issues reported by Power System Operators, and maintaining operational technology systems, OT/IT networks, and security infrastructures.
Participate in designing and implementing technical enhancements on mission-critical EMS, such as integrating renewables (solar, energy storage), electricity imports, and supporting real-time operations like power system studies, automatic generation control, load forecasting, and simulator training.
Coordinate with licensees to facilitate connection of new generation facilities and transmission equipment, perform updates, and validate EMS databases with field equipment and market operations.
Cybersecurity Monitoring for Power Sector
Provide first-level support for the Cyber Security Operation Centre (CSOC), analyze security alerts, identify anomalies, report findings, and manage security incidents.
Cybersecurity Risk Assessment & Management
Develop technical solutions, mitigation measures, and configuration changes to meet regulatory requirements such as the Cybersecurity Act and CCoP.
Coordinate security reviews, risk assessments, and audits, including documentation reviews, testing, implementing recommendations, and system patching.
The department also maintains critical supporting infrastructure such as Uninterruptible Power Supplies, fire protection systems, and security access systems to ensure reliable operation of EMS and operational centers.
Requirements:
Keen interest in OT cybersecurity, power system engineering, and public service.
Competency in programming, hardware architecture, Linux/Unix/Windows OS, basic networking, and security concepts. Familiarity with ISO 27001, Risk Assessment, Application, and Network Security.
Understanding of Power System Engineering, Control Center Operations, and environments involving substations and gas facilities is an advantage.
