Job Purpose
The Professional Officers Division (POD) houses a centralized pool of academic staff under the Professional Officers scheme. Professional Officers come with specialised and deep technical skills acquired through extensive industry experience. They form the talent pool which brings a much-needed industry perspective to student learning. They facilitate applied learning and applied research in SIT, complementing the academic expertise of the faculty to bring industry practices and applications into the curriculum.
Professional Officers leverage on their industry experiences to create authentic learning environments, where discovery and innovation take place. They act as coaches and mentors to students during practical learning activities such as laboratory sessions, Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Professional Officers could also lead or work with faculty on industry innovation projects to provide solutions to the industry.
In addition to their role in applied learning and applied research, Professional Officers manage the centralised laboratory facilities and resources in SIT. With Technical Officers, laboratory safety professionals, and administrators in POD, they jointly develop central policies and processes for the safe and seamless operation of laboratories in SIT.
Key Responsibilities
Design and teach labs & practice modules.
Mentor students in Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP).
Lead or co-lead innovation projects with industry.
Manage labs and equipment to support academic programmes and applied research.
Ensure safety in labs.
Job Requirements
A good degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related fields. Possessing a Masters, PhD and/or relevant professional certifications would be advantageous.
Deep technical specialist with 10 or more years of working experience in Electrical/Electronics Engineering environment.
Have deep, hands-on competence in the following areas:
High voltage switching
Engineering design, modelling & analysis of conventional power, wind & solar farms
Engineering design of transmission & distribution substations, electrical distribution systems of industries and commercial buildings
Power system protection application and relay coordination
Digital/Analogue/Power electronics
IoT/Micro-controller application
It will be advantageous with working knowledge of/as:
Knowledge in programming/using Python, MATLAB, LTspice, IoT platform.
Authorised high voltage switching Engineer
Extensive hands-on experience and knowledge of industry practices and engineering principles to bring industry perspective to SIT
Keen interest in innovation projects, with demonstrated ability in developing solutions to technical problems.
Strong supervisory skills and enjoy working closely with students in an educational environment.
Demonstrate proficiency to keep abreast of development in the field and pursue professional certification programs. Possess industrial certifications in relevant areas will be an added advantage.

The postdoc will play a key role in advancing our research agenda on sustainable data canters and energy-aware computing, bridging system-level performance with energy consumption reduction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on energy-efficient computing systems, including CPU/GPU/accelerator architectures, virtualization, and workload scheduling;
- Develop models and algorithms for energy-aware scheduling, workload prediction, and performance–energy trade-off optimization;
- Investigate network system energy efficiency, including traffic scheduling, topology optimization, and SDN-based solutions;
- Perform trace-driven evaluation using large-scale cluster datasets (e.g., Google cluster data, Alibaba traces);
- Contribute to the design of green cloud and edge computing architectures;
- Publish results in top-tier conferences and journals, and collaborate with industrial and academic partners.
Requirements:
- PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or related disciplines;
- Strong research background in systems, networking, or distributed computing, with demonstrated focus on energy efficiency;
- Experience in workload modeling, power/performance optimization, and energy-aware scheduling;
- Knowledge of optimization methods (e.g., convex optimization, combinatorial optimization, reinforcement learning) for energy management;
- Familiarity with simulation and modeling tools (e.g., gem5, NS3, CloudSim, GreenCloud);
- Experience with large-scale workload traces and trace-driven performance evaluation;
- Proficiency in Python, C++ or Java for system-level experimentation;
- Strong publication record in relevant venues (e.g., SIGMETRICS, ASPLOS, OSDI, INFOCOM, IEEE TPDS);
- Cross-disciplinary research experience integrating computing/IT systems with energy system modelling is a plus;
