About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Safety Compliance Lead to join a high-performing team driving regional development initiatives across the APAC data centre landscape. Reporting to the Senior Director, Engineering and Commissioning , you will be the subject matter expert responsible for establishing and leading electrical safety compliance programs across multiple high-risk construction and commissioning environments.
This role is pivotal in developing and implementing Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and electrical isolation management systems, ensuring safe energisation of HV and LV systems across all regional developments. You will work closely with project teams, safety leaders, general contractors, and equipment vendors to embed best practices and deliver measurable improvements in electrical safety performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive Electrical Compliance Program across construction and commissioning phases.
- Create and maintain a global tracking system for electrical energisations and develop the LOTO “playbook.”
- Guide and mentor contractors, vendors, and internal teams on safe electrical practices aligned with global standards.
- Review and audit Electrical Energisation Plans, LOTO procedures, and arc flash studies across multiple projects.
- Conduct site audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews during electrical startup phases.
- Deliver training and onboarding for new contractors and vendors on electrical safety protocols.
- Act as a key advisor to senior leadership on electrical safety risks and mitigation strategies.
- Support incident investigations and root cause analyses as the electrical SME.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in high-risk environments such as Tier 1 construction, data centres, or infrastructure.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Environmental Science, or WHS, with electrical trade qualifications preferred.
- Strong knowledge of electrical isolation and commissioning management tools (e.g., autoLOTO, Facility Grid, Cx Alloy).
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive strategic safety initiatives.
- Advanced skills in auditing, reporting, and safety performance frameworks.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across diverse regions.
- Willingness to travel internationally for audits, training, and onboarding.
