The Planning team sets the strategic direction for EDB’s work by:
(i) Determining EDB’s medium-term targets and priorities needed to deliver good economic outcomes for Singapore and Singaporeans
(ii) Assessing EDB’s progress on these targets and priorities, and making recommendations on areas requiring further investigation and management attention
(iii) Sensing for global and domestic trends that may warrant a review of EDB’s ambitions, strategies or tactical approaches
We work closely with the senior management team on these issues, and develop content for discussion at key platforms such as management retreats, Board discussions, and our International Advisory Council meetings. Through these activities, we also set the tone for EDB’s internal as well as external communications, and stakeholder engagement.
What you will be working on
We are currently looking for a Manager/Senior Manager to do Business Analytics. In this role, you will:
Manage the systems and processes governing EDB’s investment pipeline and KPI tracking, such as the annual target-setting and workplan process for our frontline divisions, related policies/principles, and relevant IT systems.
Analyse investment pipeline and KPI performance in relation to global macro and industry performance, our stated divisional and corporate priorities and targets, and translation into economic activity and desired outcomes for Singapore.
Present EDB’s performance in relation to economic statistics (e.g. from MTI, MOM, DOS) to internal and external stakeholders, identify implications for EDB and Singapore, and make recommendations on our ambitions, strategies or tactical approaches.
What we are looking for
To be successful in this role, you should have:
At least 2 years of relevant working experience in a public sector agency, large or similar organisations.
Ability to clean and analyse data using Excel and Tableau to derive actionable insights for the organisation’s strategy or operations. Ability to utilize Python would be a plus.
Ability to influence internal/external stakeholders to act on these insights, including through strong written and verbal communication skills to structure and substantiate an argument with logic and empathy
Be a self-starter with the ability to work in an unstructured environment, and flex in different teams as an individual contributor, manager or peer leader

About Digital Industry Singapore (DISG)
The Digital Industry Singapore (DISG) office is a joint office comprising officers from EDB, ESG and IMDA to oversee Singapore’s efforts to build up its technology ecosystem. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Account Management
Serve as the main contact person from DISG for a portfolio of companies (e.g. Google, Alibaba, Facebook, SAP etc.)
Cultivate strategic relationships and build trust with key company executives

What we are looking for
To meet the challenges of this role, you must have/be:
At least 6–8 years of relevant work experience; experience in technology sector, account management, business development, strategy development, and public sector experience would be advantageous. A candidate found suitable at the Assistant Vice President level would be expected to lead a team
Keen interest in the digital industry with a strong desire to understand technological trends that influence the industry
Strong conceptual & analytical thinking skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and spoken; including ability and experience in engaging stakeholders
