The Disaster Recovery Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring seamless delivery of quality incident management services. This position requires an individual with strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record in managing complex incidents.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure alignment with processes by effectively managing bridge participants.
- Takes accountability that the major incident management process is diligently followed, using agreed tools and methods, within defined deadlines.
- Escalate where required to ensure outcomes are achieved.
- Work in a 24/7 environment and communicate timely to appropriate stakeholders.
- Manage post-major incident activities to ensure root cause is investigated.
- Review performance of people and process to ensure it is optimal.
- Facilitate service request process to obtain root cause, perform a major incident review, and create client-facing reports within committed time frames.
- Lead the lifecycle of incidents to ensure swift resolution within SLA targets.
- Analyze incident trends to identify and eliminate recurring issues.
- Manage root cause analysis (RCA) for significant and recurring issues.
- Identify and implement long-term solutions to eliminate known errors.
- Maintain and govern the Known Error Database (KEDB).
- Demonstrate Command, Control, and Confidence in situations naturally.
- Show seasoned client service orientation and impeccable relationship-building skills.
- Able to multi-task and prioritize with great attention to detail.
- Able to manage multiple streams of activities.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Strong client liaison and facilitation skills.

- Seasoned experience in a Service Operations role within a global IT Services company.
- Major incident management experience preferably gained in a global IT organization.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology or related field.
- ITIL 4 Foundation certification required; ITIL Intermediate or Expert preferred.
- 5+ years of ITSM experience with deep knowledge of Service Management processes.
- Proficiency with ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, Jira Service Management).
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with data analytics and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel).

As IT Continuity & Recovery Manager , you’ll be the go-to expert for designing and maintaining enterprise recovery capabilities. You'll lead readiness efforts, steer cross-functional testing programs, and align practices with internal risk policies and external regulatory mandates. Your work ensures that when the unexpected strikes — the business keeps moving.
Key Responsibilities Set the Continuity Vision- Define a clear and actionable IT continuity strategy that spans infrastructure, platforms, and applications.
- Create modular, scenario-based recovery plans suited to a hybrid tech environment — integrating both cloud services and on-prem systems.
- Ensure all business-critical functions have adequate safeguards for continuity and are mapped to resilient infrastructure.
- Plan and execute end-to-end technology recovery simulations, DR drills, and failover testing.
- Benchmark system and application readiness against RTO and RPO thresholds.
- Analyse test outcomes and initiate enhancements that close recovery gaps and reduce risk exposure.
- Interpret and implement MAS TRM guidelines and equivalent frameworks into recovery protocols.
- Act as the technical lead for ITDR in audits, regulator engagements, and internal reviews.
- Prepare accurate documentation that reflects current readiness status, including recovery architecture, processes, and dependencies.
- Work closely with BCM, infrastructure leads, application teams, and business SMEs to ensure recovery planning is embedded in daily operations.
- Review and refresh BIAs and CIAs regularly to keep plans responsive to evolving business needs.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors to ensure external service providers meet internal DR requirements.
- Continuously monitor for resilience gaps, potential failure points, or new threats to continuity.
- Conduct after-action reviews following incidents or exercises, ensuring key takeaways are actioned and tracked.
- Provide senior leadership with recovery metrics, capability updates, and maturity roadmaps.
- 5 to 8 years of proven experience in disaster recovery, IT service continuity, or technology risk management.
- Deep familiarity with hybrid IT ecosystems , including cloud infrastructure, backup solutions, and replication technologies.
- Strong grasp of regulatory frameworks (e.g., MAS TRM, ISO 22301) and how to operationalise them in complex tech environments.
- Experienced in DR test orchestration , stakeholder management, and recovery optimisation.
- Strong communicator, structured in documentation, and analytical in approach — with a balance of tactical execution and strategic foresight.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
