Overview of the role
- The position will lead the Asian Ingredients and Technology Excellence (IEC) for Cocoa.
- Responsible for the Cocoa IEC (Ingredients Excellence Center) and part of Global Cocoa IEC, expected to build an Asian innovation and solution-based ingredients portfolio which is relevant for our Asian customers and value added for ofi. A successful implementation of optimized or new technology within Asia is part of the game.
- Work closely with the Singapore Cocoa Plant Operations, Cocoa Ingredient Excellence Center (IEC) in Netherlands (Koog), Product Line Managers, Quality Department, Commercial team and and provide fact-based insights and advise on the existing cocoa ingredients to optimize the current portfolio of cocoa ingredients and support decision making.
- Technical lead in terms of cocoa knowledge, capabilities and ensure that we provide cocoa related innovation and solutions to our customers are at highest possible quality within the shortest possible time.
- Lead the development of new cocoa ingredients or technologies for the Asian market based on the business needs and in close collaboration with the IEC Koog and the factories in Singapore and Indonesia.
- Collaborate closely with Quality Management and Operations and actively search for ways to simplify the portfolio of ingredients. This includes identifying and collaborating around routing, raw material and process improvement initiatives that reduce cost and complexity in the existing portfolio of ingredients. Proficiency in using multiple systems including SAP, Sales Force or other relevant programs will important.
- Responsible for the Asian technical ingredient portfolio management. This includes monitoring and optimizing the cocoa ingredient portfolio in close collaboration with the Product Line Managers, IEC and Quality department. Identifying gaps in our portfolio as well as deep understanding of the performance of the existing ingredients to ensure a complete and technically relevant portfolio of ingredients.
- Work closely with the Commercial teams to identify relevance of specifications for customers and relates ingredient performance in application to internal specifications. Lead improvements in product specifications addressing efficient business processes. The key to success is the speed and quality in response to supporting the Sales in their feedback to customers.
- The position oversees and supports various quality and regulatory initiatives throughout the region. Supporting the cocoa portfolio, especially focused on the cocoa powder producing plant in Singapore and Indonesia.
- Innovation is a key focus for ofi and this position will be responsible for developing the cocoa innovation strategy for the Asian market.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop Asian customer-based Cocoa ingredients excellence and create innovation, technology, applications and solutions for Asian customers.
- Work closely with the IEC Koog to support new product introductions or technologies and actively come up with suggestions to improve the Asia ingredient portfolio in terms of functionality and value.
- Leverage core cocoa specialists for building solutions for customers.
- Build new or improved ingredients and technologies for products to increase both sales and stickiness for our powder customers.
- Understand, bring in, develop opportunities through ingredients expertise for increasing butter and liquor sales.
- Create R&D efforts for developing cocoa based new products such as new blends of liquors, butters, powders, Cocoa nib and pulp-based sweeteners, etc.
- IEC will leverage common facilities of CSC in order to coordinate and collaborate effectively.
Qualification & other requirements
- A MSc or PhD degree in Food Technology or Food Chemistry. MBA or equivalent commercial qualification would be desirable.
- Proven capability in a similar senior leadership role in Product Development/R&D in the B2B or B2C in the cocoa or chocolate industry with a minimum of 13 to 17 years of experience. Additional experience in the bakery industry is a plus.
- An expert in ingredient functionality and have a track record working on complex food systems. Proficient to transform ideas into bespoke and solution driven concepts.
- Used to developing and maintaining professional relationships with customers based on capabilities, knowledge and drive to make things happen. Develop and give presentations to customers at all levels.
- Proven leadership skills to transfer the growth aspirations of the company into a regional innovation strategy with tangible actions and KPI’s explained and accepted by the teams.
- Master the food development process inside-out from customer inspiration to winning customer projects. Excellent understanding in ingredient functionality, great tasting product development, analytical methodologies and sensory science is best-in-class.
- Entrepreneurial and able to inspire the team to go the extra mile combining intelligence, agility,
- creativity and a “can do” mentality.
- Shares a passion for innovative ingredients, food or beverage products and technologies in the beverage, dairy and ice category.

- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and manage complex projects.
- Proficient in the use of research administration systems, grant portals, and office software

Position Summary
The candidate will play an important role in driving research administrative excellence, managing research collaborations and grants, and providing oversight of the PhD Programme in Operations Research and Analytics (ORA) at IORA. This role will be the key administrative point of contact for research teams, partners, and stakeholders, and will lead process improvements across research and programme management functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Research Administration, Collaboration & Grant Management
- Lead and oversee research administration activities within IORA, ensuring robust processes for research collaborations, industry partnerships, and compliance with NUS and funding agency requirements.
- Drive and coordinate research grant applications: Advise and support PIs and research teams in grant identification, application preparation, internal reviews, timely submission, and post-award administration.
- Monitor and manage grant portfolios: Oversee financial tracking, milestone monitoring, progress reporting, and compliance for all active research grants and collaborative projects.
- Serve as the primary administrative liaison with academic, industry, and funding partners for research collaborations, ensuring effective communication, documentation, and issue resolution.
- Supervise procurement, HR administration, and claims related to grant-funded activities; optimise processes for onboarding research staff, faculty, and students.
- Maintain oversight of research records, partnership agreements, and audit documentation for internal and external reporting.
- PhD Programme & Student Administration
- Oversee the administration of the PhD Programme in Operations Research and Analytics, ensuring seamless processes for applications, admissions, course registration, examinations, thesis milestones, and graduation requirements.
- Streamline and supervise milestone management: Ensure timely scheduling and documentation of qualifying exams, thesis proposals, research progress reports, and defenses in coordination with faculty and graduate school offices.
- Advise and support students and faculty on programme matters, appeals, and research-related administrative procedures.
- Executive Support & Operations
- Provide executive support for the Executive Director for research-related meetings, strategic scheduling, and essential travel related to collaborations and grants.
- Organise event and seminar planning for IORA, including industry engagement events, workshops, and research seminars, ensuring effective resource allocation and logistics.

About the Role
You will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of SingHealth’s Epic implementation for the Research Workgroup, ensuring that research workflows are seamlessly integrated across institutions in compliance with policies, governance frameworks, and regulatory requirements. You will serve as the primary liaison between clinical, research, IT, and governance stakeholders, driving the strategic adoption, optimisation, and continuous improvement of Epic for research purposes.
In addition, you will oversee client management for SingHealth's research data and data science platforms, supporting researchers, clinicians, and staff across our 12 institutions to maximise their research impact. This includes managing the SingHealth Data Science Innovation and Research Platforms (SDIRP), analytics environments, and high-performance compute resources. You will focus on empowering research teams by enabling secure, timely, and governed access to these platforms, providing guidance and support to enhance their research capabilities, fostering strong partnerships across institutions, and optimising platform use to enhance research quality, efficiency, and impact.
You will play a critical role in balancing diverse stakeholder needs, leading change management efforts, and ensuring operational excellence in service delivery, onboarding, and resource allocation, ultimately helping our talented researchers and clinicians achieve breakthrough discoveries that benefit patient care.
Job Requirements- Bachelor's or Master's or Doctoral degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Health/Life Sciences, Public Health Healthcare Informatics, or related disciplines (including quantitative, statistical, biomedical, or healthcare administration fields).
- At least 12 years of relevant working experience, preferably in healthcare IT, clinical research informatics, or large-scale health data platform management.
- Prior experience with Epic or similar clinical information systems (Cerner, AllScripts) is beneficial.
- Proven experience leading multi-institutional stakeholder engagement and managing complex change initiatives across healthcare or research environments.
- Experience in healthcare data management and governance.
- Experience in strategic planning, resource allocation, and service delivery for high-performance computing, data analytics, or research IT systems.
- Experience in working with a large and diverse group of stakeholders and users.
- Experience in research environments (as coordinator, data analyst, or research manager) is an advantage.
