Reporting to Team Lead of Resource Planning and Management (RPM), the Senior Manager of POD is responsible to drive and implement sustainability initiatives, establish and streamline policies and procedures, and lead in effective management of lab resources to support lab operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive division’s initiatives on lab sustainability and provide guidance to Labs-in-charge in sustainable practices.
- Prepare division’s sustainability dashboard, conduct sustainability data analytics and implement process improvement projects on lab processes.
- Promote resource efficiency, reduce environmental impact and foster a culture of sustainability.
- Establish and upkeep processes for lab space changes (new lab setup, decommissioning, change of use, change request) and liaise with relevant stakeholders.
- Oversee lab resource planning for optimisation of lab utilization and capacity management.
- Adopt and implement automation, technology or process optimisation to manage lab operation data for management reporting.
- Establish and lead periodical review of SOPs to streamline workflows for continuous improvement in lab operations and equipment maintenance.
- Function as part of the Resource Planning and Management Team to support the division’s activities and administrative needs, including proper documentation of records.
- Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Director, POD or supervising officer for the effective support of division operations and activities.
Job Requirements
1. Possess a good degree with minimum 8 years of relevant experience in lab and sustainability management.
2. Passionate about environmental stewardship would be an advantage.

What the role is
We are looking for an individual to be part of the Blood Services Group, Blood Supply Management Division (BSM). The appointee for this position will provide administrative and clerical support to laboratories in BSM.
What you will be working on
- Provide administrative support to the testing, processing, and inventory labs in BSM to ensure smooth daily operations of the blood supply functions
- Assist Inventory Supervisor in the daily management and update of patient transfusion records. This includes the daily collation of patient transfusion records from hospitals, perform timely and accurate electronic upload and/ or manual data entry of patients' record into the blood bank computer system.
- Perform filing and retrieval of records in BSM labs to ensure tidiness of laboratory areas and traceability of records when needed. Support BSM laboratories records management in accordance with accreditation standards.
- Collection and despatch of mails and/or laboratory test reports to ensure timely receipt of mails/reports by BSM labs and clients
- Provide support to BSM managers in the collation and update of blood collection and laboratory performance statistics for key performance reporting
- Assist BSM managers in coordination and communications with internal stakeholders (Blood Service Support and HSA Corporate Services) to maintain smooth administrative functions in BSM laboratories

- Proficient in using computer and software, e.g. Excel to perform administrative or data entry work
- Meticulous individual with an eye for detail
- Able to multi-task and work efficiently under pressure
- Individuals with working experience in an administrative role would have an added advantage
