An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an accomplished professional to join MUFG Securities as Vice President/ Director Credit Sales, based in Singapore. This role is designed for someone who thrives on building and nurturing relationships with institutional clients across the APAC region, particularly Singapore and ASEAN markets. The successful candidate will play a pivotal part in driving growth across a diverse range of credit products, delivering insightful investment ideas, and collaborating closely with internal teams to provide seamless solutions. With a focus on both flow and structured products, this position offers the chance to work at the forefront of global credit markets, supported by a knowledgeable and supportive team environment. Flexible working opportunities and ongoing training are integral to this organisation's ethos, ensuring you have the resources needed to excel and progress your career.
+ Play a key role in expanding credit sales coverage across Singapore and ASEAN, engaging directly with high-profile institutional clients and offering tailored investment solutions that meet their evolving needs.
+ Benefit from flexible working opportunities and continuous professional development within a collaborative team culture that values knowledge sharing, support, and inclusive growth.
+ Work alongside experienced professionals in trading, syndicate, DCM, and other product teams to deliver comprehensive client solutions while contributing to strategic initiatives that shape the future of credit sales in the region.
**What you'll do:**
As Vice President/ Director Credit Sales, you will be entrusted with managing an established portfolio of institutional clients while proactively seeking new business opportunities across APAC markets. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve originating innovative credit solutions tailored to client objectives, executing transactions efficiently, and maintaining open lines of communication regarding market movements. You will collaborate extensively with colleagues from trading desks, syndicate teams, DCM specialists, and other departments to ensure each client receives holistic advice backed by deep market insight. Success in this role requires not only technical expertise but also a genuine commitment to supporting your peers-sharing knowledge generously while contributing ideas that drive collective achievement. By staying attuned to both primary and secondary market dynamics, you will help shape strategic growth initiatives that reinforce your team's reputation as trusted advisors within the industry.
+ Originate, pitch, and execute credit opportunities across both flow and structured products for a diverse portfolio of institutional clients throughout the APAC region.
+ Maintain and deepen existing relationships with key clients in Singapore and ASEAN by providing consistent coverage and attentive service tailored to their specific requirements.
+ Drive revenue generation through effective identification of market opportunities while ensuring all activities align with rigorous risk management and compliance standards set by the bank.
+ Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including Trading, Debt Capital Markets (DCM), Syndicate, and other product teams to deliver integrated client solutions that address complex investment needs.
+ Act as a trusted advisor by keeping clients informed about relevant market developments, new issuances, secondary flow activities, and emerging trends within global credit markets.
+ Contribute actively to the team's strategic growth initiatives by identifying product expansion possibilities and cross-selling opportunities that enhance overall business performance.
+ Support fellow team members by fostering a high-performance sales culture built on collaboration, mutual respect, and shared success.
+ Provide timely feedback on client preferences and market sentiment to inform product development strategies and ensure alignment with broader organisational goals.
+ Participate in regular training sessions to stay abreast of regulatory changes, market innovations, and best practices within credit sales.
+ Represent the team at industry events or conferences as required, strengthening the organisation's presence within the regional financial community.
**What you bring:**
To excel as Vice President/ Director Credit Sales you will bring extensive experience gained from senior positions within reputable financial institutions where you have managed complex portfolios involving both flow-based transactions and structured deals. Your proven ability to foster trust-based relationships with institutional investors sets you apart as someone who values long-term partnership over short-term gain. In addition to technical proficiency navigating global credit markets-from origination through execution-you possess refined interpersonal skills that enable you to connect authentically with clients from diverse backgrounds. Your approach is grounded in empathy: listening carefully before offering thoughtful recommendations tailored precisely to each situation. You thrive when collaborating across functions-whether brainstorming new product ideas with syndicate colleagues or coordinating seamless trade execution alongside traders-always prioritising collective success above individual recognition. A commitment to continuous improvement ensures you remain current on regulatory developments while embracing opportunities for personal growth through formal training or informal mentoring relationships.
+ A minimum of 10 years' experience in credit sales roles within major financial institutions or investment banks, ideally covering both flow and non-flow products across multiple jurisdictions.
+ Demonstrated history of generating significant revenue streams through effective client engagement strategies focused on long-term relationship building rather than transactional selling.
+ Comprehensive understanding of global credit markets-including primary issuance processes as well as secondary trading environments-and ability to translate complex concepts into actionable insights for clients.
+ Outstanding communication skills enabling you to present clear market views both verbally and in writing; adept at tailoring presentations for different levels of audiences.
+ Proven track record of working dependably both independently when required and collaboratively as part of multi-disciplinary teams spanning trading floors, syndicate groups, DCM units, and more.
+ Fluency in English is essential for this role; proficiency in an additional Asian language such as Mandarin or Bahasa would be highly advantageous given the regional client base.
+ Strong interpersonal skills marked by empathy, sensitivity to client needs, willingness to share information openly with colleagues, and commitment to upholding ethical standards at all times.
+ Ability to adapt quickly to changing regulatory landscapes or shifting market conditions while maintaining composure under pressure during periods of heightened activity or volatility.
+ A positive attitude towards ongoing learning-demonstrated through participation in training programmes or pursuit of relevant professional qualifications-is highly valued.
**What sets this company apart:**
This organisation stands out for its unwavering dedication to fostering an inclusive workplace where every team member feels valued for their unique contributions. With a strong emphasis on flexible working arrangements designed around employee wellbeing-as well as generous support for ongoing professional development-you can expect an environment where your ambitions are matched by tangible resources for advancement. The company's leadership is renowned for its supportive approach: encouraging open dialogue between departments so that knowledge flows freely throughout the business. Regular training sessions keep everyone up-to-date on industry best practices while mentorship programmes offer guidance at every stage of your career journey. Above all else this firm believes in empowering individuals through trust-based collaboration-ensuring that success is always shared collectively rather than attributed solely to one person's efforts. Flexible working opportunities and ongoing training are integral to this organisation’s ethos, ensuring you have the resources needed to excel and progress your career.
Responsibilities
Originate, pitch, and execute credit opportunities across both flow and structured products for a diverse portfolio of institutional clients throughout the APAC region.
Maintain and deepen existing relationships with key clients in Singapore and ASEAN by providing consistent coverage and attentive service tailored to their specific requirements.
Drive revenue generation through effective identification of market opportunities while ensuring all activities align with rigorous risk management and compliance standards set by the bank.
Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including Trading, Debt Capital Markets (DCM), Syndicate, and other product teams to deliver integrated client solutions that address complex investment needs.
Act as a trusted advisor by keeping clients informed about relevant market developments, new issuances, secondary flow activities, and emerging trends within global credit markets.
Contribute actively to the team’s strategic growth initiatives by identifying product expansion possibilities and cross-selling opportunities that enhance overall business performance.
Support fellow team members by fostering a high-performance sales culture built on collaboration, mutual respect, and shared success.
Provide timely feedback on client preferences and market sentiment to inform product development strategies and ensure alignment with broader organisational goals.
Participate in regular training sessions to stay abreast of regulatory changes, market innovations, and best practices within credit sales.
Represent the team at industry events or conferences as required, strengthening the organisation’s presence within the regional financial community.
Qualifications
A minimum of 10 years’ experience in credit sales roles within major financial institutions or investment banks, ideally covering both flow and non-flow products across multiple jurisdictions.
Demonstrated history of generating significant revenue streams through effective client engagement strategies focused on long-term relationship building rather than transactional selling.
Comprehensive understanding of global credit markets—including primary issuance processes as well as secondary trading environments—and ability to translate complex concepts into actionable insights for clients.
Outstanding communication skills enabling you to present clear market views both verbally and in writing; adept at tailoring presentations for different levels of audiences.
Proven track record of working dependably both independently when required and collaboratively as part of multi-disciplinary teams spanning trading floors, syndicate groups, DCM units, and more.
Fluency in English is essential for this role; proficiency in an additional Asian language such as Mandarin or Bahasa would be highly advantageous given the regional client base.
Strong interpersonal skills marked by empathy, sensitivity to client needs, willingness to share information openly with colleagues, and commitment to upholding ethical standards at all times.
Ability to adapt quickly to changing regulatory landscapes or shifting market conditions while maintaining composure under pressure during periods of heightened activity or volatility.
A positive attitude towards ongoing learning—demonstrated through participation in training programmes or pursuit of relevant professional qualifications—is highly valued.
