This role oversees the daily operations of a diesel workshop, managing engine repair and overhaul projects for commercial and naval vessels.
Key responsibilities include:
- Oversight of day-to-day operations of diesel workshops.
- Ensuring overhaul processes are executed productively and in compliance with customer specifications, deadlines, and quality standards.
- Supervision and guidance of engineers and technicians.
- Monitoring departmental projects to achieve delivery targets while maintaining high levels of quality assurance.
- Enforcement of yard safety regulations and promotion of a culture of safety through active leadership and role modeling.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A diploma or degree in marine or mechanical engineering.
- 5-7 years' experience in shipyards or OEMs specializing in diesel engines.
- Strong knowledge of engine overhauling, applied mechanics, and related systems.
- Hands-on troubleshooting skills in pneumatic, hydraulic, piping, and basic electrical systems.
- Familiarity with engine warranty, claims, and job acceptance processes.
- Proven ability to manage multiple engine repair/overhaul projects and lead teams in both workshop and onboard environments.

Perform installation, preventive maintenance, repair and overhaul of Caterpillar engine onboard vessel or oil rig

Recommend and assist customer to place order for spares parts replacement
