The National University of Singapore invites applications for a position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. This appointment will be on a 2-year contract basis.

We seek candidates in the early stages of their academic career, with the potential and drive to develop an independent and vibrant research program in radiology and imaging sciences. The candidate should be capable of securing extramural funding and teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

• Establish an independent, externally funded research program in radiology and imaging sciences.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including clinicians and scientists.
• Mentor and supervise undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral researchers.
• Teach courses related to radiology at undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences.
• Participate in department events, workshops, and outreach activities.

- Ph.D. and postdoctoral training in a relevant field.

- Evidence of creativity and early independence in research.

To maintain a high level of service quality at the reception and appointment hotline /call centre and to assist the DDR Manager and the Nurse Clinician in the daily running of DDR. To maintain a high level of service quality to patients and to ensure continuous improvement to work processes.

• To receive and greet patients at various reception areas in DDR
• To register patient manually or electronically on SAP and RIS
• To print out patients’ labels, queue and time chits for appointments.
• To handle all image duplication in DVDs/CDs and/or Radiological Reports in accordance to PDPA Act
• To schedule appointments for outpatients and inpatients in accordance to scheduling rules set by DDR
• To receive and sort out request forms from Wards/SOC for vetting by Radiographers and/or Radiologists
• To offer simple financial advice on estimated procedure costs and service redirection of patients for financial assistance and counselling
• To maintain and manage the reception areas in terms of stocking of stationery, relevant patient information sheets, presentation and cleanliness
• To troubleshoot and manage cash machine for automatic payments
• To handle manual cash payments and other relevant billing issues such as Medisave, drop charges, modification of charges, refunds or exam cancellations
• To perform simple crowd-control and manage waiting times
• To reduce no-show rates and communicate need for rescheduling to patients or next-of-kin
• To manage patients during down-time as per Supervisor’s instructions e.g. rescheduling of appointments
• To attend to telephone calls, fax and other enquiries from various sources
• To participate in corporate events when necessary, especially those relevant in service quality
• To undertake any other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor, Radiographers and Nurses

Requirements

• Minimum Diploma OR GCE 'N/O/A/NITEC/ITE' Levels or WSQ Certificate in Healthcare (Admin Support)
• Prior Experience in patient service in Hospital settings is an advantage
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in healthcare settings will be advantage
• Skilled in relevant Radiology IT systems such as RIS/PACS, SAP, EPIC will be an advantage
• Skilled in Microsoft Office programmes such as Word and Excel

Who We Need

You will work alongside the Nursing Leaders to deliver patient-centered and compassionate nursing care to individuals in our Diagnotic Imaging Department.

• Provides safe and fast portering of patients to the department by means of wheelchair, trolley or bed.
• Helps in the transfer of patients to the x-ray couch and prepare them for examinations.
• Assists the radiologist/radiographers in radiological/radiographic procedures.
• Assists in Newborn Hearing screening and ECG.
• Provides patient care to the patients while they are at the department. This may entail the giving of bed pans and urinals.
• Assists in the reception counter during peak/busy periods.
• Helps in darkroom duties/ processing when required.
• Undertakes other duties and tasks when requested by the manager.

How to Succeed

• Possess NITEC in Nursing with a valid Singapore Nursing Board license.
• Previous experience in acute care hospital, especially in radiology department is an added advantage.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to listen actively and empathetically
• Patience and emotional resilience, with the ability to remain calm in challenging situations
• Strong team-player, self-starter with strong sense of initiative, agility and perseverance in starting and building a strong culture in performance & engagement.
• Available for emergency calls (on-call) if needed.
• 5.5 Days work week (Monday-Friday 8.30am-5.30pm, Satuday half day)

Job Summary:

A medical imaging specialist is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations and producing high-quality images for radiological reports.

• Conduct cardiac echocardiography using various diagnostic modalities.
• Perform 12-lead ECG, Holter monitoring, and other diagnostic tests.
• Maintain accurate patient records and diagnostic equipment.
• Obtain, analyze, and compare test results to prepare preliminary reports.
• Uphold best practices and recommend enhancements to clinical protocols.

• Minimum a Degree in Biomedical / Medical Technology or equivalent.
• Competent in MS Office.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Possess relevant experience.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for carrying out various cardiac investigations and procedures.

• Perform Paediatric Cardiac Echocardiography and Fetal Echocardiography
• Conduct 12 Lead- ECG, Holter and other monitoring modalities
• Administer report typing duties
• Maintain equipment and patient records
• Obtain, analyse, compare results, and prepare preliminary reports for routine and complex cases accurately
