KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Applying strong commercial sense on the business development initiatives for the gas, power and/or utilities projects
- Drive supply-side optimisation and utilisation of new and existing assets for longer term capacity planning
- Development of bids, proposals and presentations including financial analysis, modelling, commercial structuring
- Ensuring bids and proposals are commercially sound and competitive within market
- Drive standardisation of financial model/templates
- Actively review product costing methodology, and a source of support to wider BD team in pricing and cost benchmarking for various BD pursuits in the gas, power and/or utilities domain
- Conduct win/loss analysis to assess pricing effectiveness
Catering to customers' pain points and deal structuring
- Lead contract negotiations on the commercial front, ensuring all agreements are in the best interests of the company while also ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards
Opportunities as project development lead in transformative projects
- Lead in originating a project with customer and including lobbying with relevant government authority and internal stakeholders (from conceptual inception to FID)
- Co-lead with support from functional expertise within the team to drive project planning, project development execution as well as corporate approvals process necessary to take the project to FID
- Engaging with relevant government agencies to secure project deliverables such as land, grants, key approval reports
- Perform investment risk assessment and develop mitigation plans
- Present investment case to Management/IDC/ExCo/Board for approval
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Proven track record in FP&A and/or commercial optimisation domain, preferably in the power and utilities industry
- Experience with Singapore's electricity market is highly preferred
- At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES & PREFERRED CHARACTERISTICS
- High proficiency in Microsoft office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Dynamics), Power BI, process mapping and analysis tools.
- Excel and VBA: Proficient in Excel functions such as LOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and Power Query. Experience with VBA scripting is a plus.
- SQL and Relational Databases: Understanding of database design (MSSQL) with the ability to write SQL queries.
- Data Cleaning and Transformation: Ability to preprocess, clean, and transform raw data
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
- Proficient in data analysis and negotiation techniques tailored to complex energy solutions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
