Position Overview
We are seeking a high-impact Development Director – Asia Operations to take on strategic leadership and performance oversight of our existing offices in Singapore, Malaysia, and/or South Korea. This is a key regional role with a refined mandate focused on execution alignment, technical and regulatory leadership, and commercial strategy support.
This individual will act as a bridge between regional teams and Equalenergie HQ, helping drive the success of our Asian markets by strengthening local performance, ensuring operational continuity, shaping sales strategy, and representing the region to investors and executive stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Regional Oversight & Performance Leadership
- Provide day-to-day strategic oversight of Equalenergie offices in Asia.
- Ensure local offices operate in alignment with global goals, processes, and standards.
- Serve as a critical escalation point and HQ liaison for operational issues and cross-border dependencies.
- Track performance metrics, manage risks, and ensure alignment with development timelines.
2. Strategic Sales Support

4. Regulatory & Government Affairs

- Monitor policy changes, provide regulatory briefings to HQ, and represent the company in local forums.
- Ensure ongoing compliance across markets and manage any regulatory escalations.
5. Investor & Executive Stakeholder Communication
- Represent Asia operations in investor updates, due diligence processes, and milestone tracking.
- Prepare and deliver regional insights, project progress, and risk reports to HQ and external stakeholders.
- Support investor site visits, roadshows, and fundraising activities where regional context is critical.
6. Team Mentorship & Talent Growth
- Coach and support local managers in their development and execution roles.
- Ensure team structures in each country are appropriate for current and forecasted project demands.

Candidate Profile
- 10+ years of experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, or regional operations
- Familiarity with solar PV and battery storage technologies, including development and grid connection stages.
- Strong understanding of regulatory landscapes in at least one of the following: Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea.
- Fluent in English; additional languages (Korean, Mandarin, or Malay) are a strong plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Energy, or related; advanced degree preferred.
