Database Security Monitoring Specialist

The Database Security Monitoring specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our database system. This includes maintaining high availability, adhering to service level agreements and security policies.

Key responsibilities include managing project and operational KPIs and SLAs at both team and individual levels. The successful candidate will be confident and decisive in leading projects and overseeing their completion.

A strong communication skill is required for effective collaboration with various stakeholders. This position also involves designing, developing, and maintaining database security monitoring for cloud-based database systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute Database Security Monitoring Service Levels
  • Implement infrastructure and support database security monitoring.
  • Perform database security monitoring and auditing.
  • Monitor security alerts and work closely with clients to ensure policy implementation.
  • Manage database security monitoring reports.
  • Communicate regularly with technical staff to ensure database integrity and security.
  • Advise on database security monitoring concepts and functional capabilities.
  • Provide technical advice for installation, setup, configuration of databases security monitoring.

Optimise Database Security Monitoring:

  • Optimise delivery of database security monitoring with emphasis on availability, reliability, scalability, and security.
  • Develop automated processes to define, measure, and report on service quality, stability, and capacity.

Requirements:

  • Knowledgeable about how database security monitoring fits into security and understand database security concepts.
  • Strong technical knowledge on Database.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows/UNIX/Linux server platform.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English is mandatory.
  • Strong communications skills with stakeholders at all levels.

Job Objectives

The Security Governance Specialist role will support the Head of Security Governance in enhancing and maintaining the Security Governance within the Group Information Security(GIS) function in the Bank.

Key Responsibilities

This position will support senior Security Governance team members and work closely with various business, risk and technology stakeholders to:


• Proactively assess the compliance exposure to current and emerging security-related regulatory requirements and plan & track remediation efforts.


• Manage reverse third-party due diligence engagements related to GIS.


• Manage audit, assurance and regulatory engagements related to GIS including ongoing knowledge management on queries and request for information.


• Track and report against the technology KORI(Key Operational Risk Indicators)/KRIs and required security metrics.


• Execution of the GIS KRCSA (Key Risk and Control Self Assessments).


• Management policy, procedures and standards updates and control.


• Manage various GIS initiatives and duties as assigned.

Key Requirements


• Communicate effectively with a variety of internal and external teams and stakeholders.


• Capable of managing a variety of priorities and deliverables with minimal guidance or supervision.


• Ability to respond to any requests and issues on a timely basis.

Education


• Diploma/Degree in engineering/Computer Science / IT/Cyber Security from a recognized education institution.


• Professional Technology Risk Management/Cybersecurity related qualification will be favorable although not mandatory.


• Knowledge of industry best practices.

Technical Skills


• Overall experience 5+ years of experience.


• 2+ years of relevant experience in Security/IT governance disciplines.
