Source, structure, and format messy data
from web, APIs, PDFs, or raw text.
Vectorize text
using transformer models (e.g. BERT, Sentence Transformers).
Work with
embedding stores
and retrieval tools like Pinecone or FAISS.
Test, evaluate, and fine-tune
existing models (LLMs, classifiers, RAG pipelines).
Set up quick workflows using
no-code/low-code AI builders
like
Flowise, Appify,LangChaintemplates,
etc.
Write clean, reusable scripts for data cleaning, chunking, tagging, and ingestion.
Create solid
documentation
of workflows, datasets, and model outputs.
Are a
CS, Data Science, or AI/ML
student or recent grad with real projects under yourbelt.
Have experience with
Python, Pandas, NumPy, Hugging Face, and scikit-learn .
Understand
NLP basics , embeddings, and data pipelines.
Are
comfortable figuring things out on your own
and pushing to production fast.
Are
curious about new tools
(Appify, Flowise, LangChain, RAG frameworks) and learn fast.
Have ranked or won in
hackathons, ML challenges, Kaggle, or buildathons .
Have worked with
retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)

**Functional Description**
Decision Science colleagues will serve as a key member of the Credit and Fraud Risk organization. We seek a thought-leader and a problem-solver who can blend business, technical, and industry best practices when it comes to developing the analyses, models, and algorithms that power our customers' digital experiences.
This critical team is responsible for managing enterprise risks throughout the customer lifecycle, across our consumer and commercial businesses, and across all our global products. We develop industry-first data capabilities, build profitable decision-making frameworks, create machine learning-powered predictive models, and improve customer servicing strategies.
Our Decision Science teams use industry leading modeling and AI practices to predict customer behavior. We develop, deploy and validate predictive models and support the use of models in economic logic to enable profitable decisions across credit, fraud, marketing and servicing optimization engines.
**Responsibilities:**
- Work with massive data and sophisticated tools in an industry leading Big Data environment.
- Planning and delivering of high performing models, meeting agreed deadlines and ensuring accurate, efficient implementation of models in production systems
- Learning industry developments and best practices, conducting research and development to incorporate best in class modelling methodologies and share with the team
- Performing annual reviews, performance monitoring reviews, retrains and remediation activity on models as required
- Build everything from basic reports to advanced machine learning models and algos to drive improvements to our customer's online and mobile app experiences.
- Collaborate with tech partners to test, implement and deploy modeling solutions to production system.

**Qualifications:**
- PhDs in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Operation Research and etc.) with hands-on experience leveraging sophisticated analytical and machine learning techniques.
- Expertise in an analytical language (Python, R or the equivalent), and experience with databases (Hive, SQL, or the equivalent). Knowledge of SAS is a plus but not required.
- Deep understanding of machine learning/statistical algorithms such as deep learning and boosting. Experience with data visualization is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to frame business problems into mathematical programming problems, leverage external thinking and tools (from academia and/or other industries) to engineer a solution and deliver business insights.

+ Work across a diverse set of telemetry collection and deployment environments inclusive of client endpoint OSes, real-time operating systems, and embedded firmware ecosystems
+ Develop AI/ML software solutions tailored for client silicon using strong knowledge of client device ecosystem nuances and complexities

**Requirements**
+ Master's degree or higher in AI/ML, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or other Engineering & Scientific fields with a significant quantitative component; Bachelors + 8 years, MS + 5 years, Ph.D. + 2 years minimum
+ Solid experience developing for Microsoft (MS) Windows OSto include client Software Development Kits (SDKs), MS DirectML, WinML, MS Graph and experience with embedded device development in at least one RTOS
+ Progressive knowledge of AI / ML algorithms, particularly in the Generative AI domain, as well as in AI/ML optimization techniques for delivering models and algorithms into resource-constrained environments with advanced experience with Deep Learning libraries and runtimes such as PyTorch, Tensor Flow, TensorRT, and nuances of their application in end-user ecosystems
+ Solid communicator with the ability to explain difficult analytical methods to technical and business stakeholders
+ Experience working in software development or other cross-functional teams, with strong mentorship, and coaching skills
**Desirable skills**
+ Experience working with cloud-based applications in Azure as well as leading small teams
+ Familiarity with Open Neural Network Exchange (ONNX) models and the ONNX run time (ORT) as well as experience with at least one major hardware vendor toolchain such as Intel OpenVino, Qualcomm QNN, NVIDIA CUDA, or AMD Ryzen AI Software

**Responsibilities:**
+ Combine A.I./Machine Learning and Technology knowledge to implement highly scalable solutions to solve real-world problems in areas such as Generative AI, Personalization, Image Recognition, Speech Recognition, Natural Language Processing, Best Next Action, and Time Series predictions
+ Build solutions from identifying business problems, to collecting training dataset, to analyzing data, to modeling, to validating and to delivering production grade solutions at scale.
+ Research latest related academic papers and test nascent ideas which can potentially solve new business problems and enhance existing solutions.
+ Responsible for developing and defining deployment strategies for production quality AI solutions in Cloud infrastructure at scale
+ Drive both high-level and detailed technical designs and conduct design reviews as needed
+ Responsible for health and quality of the code across the portfolio, including leadership over innovation, functional testing, and CI/CD tool integration
+ Provide technical mentorship to team members at junior levels
+ Actively participate in business and technical discussions and forums across Amex
**Qualifications:**
+ Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related STEM fields. PhD degree preferred
+ Proven track record on producing outstanding research results (Journal and/or Conference publications, and patterns) is a must.
+ 2 years full lifecycle product development and engineering leadership in highly available, highly scalable, high throughput systems
+ 2 years of experience in building and delivering sophisticated solutions that leverage various AI solutions, machine learning algorithms or technologies and are able to scale optimally.
+ Expert in at least one of the following fields:
o Generative AI
