Role Purpose

We are seeking a meticulous and analytical Data Analyst to oversee data analysis, reporting, and dashboard creation for senior management. This role involves developing and managing dashboards, generating reports, and implementing desktop automations to enhance operational efficiency across all business units. The ideal candidate should possess expertise in Excel Macros, Power BI, and Power Automate, with a passion for utilizing data and automation to drive business insights.

Key Role Responsibilities
  • Dashboard Development & Automation: Design and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI to offer actionable insights. Create, update, and troubleshoot Excel-based MIS reports with advanced Macros/VBA for automation. Develop desktop automation workflows utilizing Power Automate and other Power Apps tools.
  • Stakeholder Communication & Requirement Gathering: Collaborate with business leaders to understand reporting needs. Translate business requirements into meaningful reports and dashboards. Present data-driven insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Process Improvement & Efficiency: Identify reporting process gaps and recommend enhancements. Establish standardized templates and best practices for reporting. Ensure adherence to data governance and confidentiality policies.
Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills: Minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience. Proficiency in Excel including Macros/VBA scripting. Strong knowledge of Power BI for data modelling, DAX, report, and dashboard creation. Hands-on experience with Power Automate and understanding of Power Apps for automation.

Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Capacity to work with extensive datasets and complex business metrics. High attention to detail and dedication to data accuracy.

Education & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher. Experience in process excellence or transformation functions is advantageous.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Assign, shape and edit graphics and narrative data visualizations
  • Collaborate with regional beat reporters and editors to develop graphics and data visualizations
  • Work with Data Visualization team members to develop and execute their own story pitches
  • Deliver feedback on how to communicate effectively through graphics
  • Work efficiently under varied deadlines
  • Possess interest in topics core to Bloomberg News coverage — including finance, markets, economics and government policy, among others — and an eagerness to develop subject-matter expertise in these areas
  • Support graphics reporters on the team, both by listening to their ideas and helping them achieve their development goals
You’ll need to have:
  • At least 5 years of recent experience in journalism
  • Demonstrated experience creating graphics and data visualizations for journalistic publications
  • Strong communication, project management and other leadership experiences that allow you to effectively edit, lead projects and collaborate with editors across teams in the newsroom
  • Experience conceptualizing and structuring visual narratives and writing copy
  • Strong sense of visual design with solid understanding of layout, typography and user experience and familiarity with design software such as Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Experience evaluating data sources and assessing data reporting
  • Fluency in both spoken and written English
  • Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization

We are seeking a Team Leader in Singapore to manage and edit a team of graphics reporters in Asia and work closely with newsroom editors in the region across coverage areas. In addition to the graphics team in Asia, you'll collaborate with a team of graphics editors and reporters in London and the US.
Your curiosity and enthusiasm for core Bloomberg coverage areas - finance, markets, economics, geopolitics, among others - and your eagerness to engage with reporters and editors of those areas will put you at the center of our coverage of the most important stories in the region. Collaboration with newsroom colleagues is critical to ensuring that our team's contributions to newsroom coverage are well coordinated and timely, and that we are involved early in stories with high data and visual storytelling potential.
