Job Summary
The Executive Officer (Data Analyst) blends historical data from available reports, end user data, field reports or purchased sources and performs analysis to support management decisions in terms of Education programmes. He/she uses development tools to generate reports, dashboards and analytical solutions according to business rules and specifications. He/she advises the department management on important projects and coordinates with internal teams to develop projection on the outcome of implementing certain department strategies that result in actionable insights. In this role, he/she would work closely with officers from the Research and Design Department to complement their data work.
He/she enjoys working with data and displays willingness to learn. He/she adopts an analytical approach to solving problems and displays confidence when communicating ideas.
The incumbent is expected to work from between 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekdays and may be required to work over weekends and public holidays to support in organisation events. Although he/she is largely expected to work in an indoor environment, he/she is also expected to travel frequently for meetings.

- Keep abreast of developments and trends in education and in the community for the purpose of the department's strategic planning.
- Assist in identifying and networking with potential and existing partners for collaboration on the provision of resources as well as the delivery of programmes.
- Respond to requests and follow-up with governmental agencies and representatives on the status of programmes.
Identification of Programme Needs
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to define programme and information needs.
- Support the translation of these needs into analytics and reporting requirements.
- Recommend types of data and data sources required for tracking of impact and outcomes.
Data Management
- Develop and communicate SOPs for dept's management of data.
- Prepare data from department's programmes for the purpose of sharing with MOE.
- Process data from MOE for the purpose of analysis and identification of students for awards and recognition (i.e. Joint Tuition Awards).
- Gather data from internal systems and external sources.
- Enter information into data collection systems.
- Clean databases to remove duplicated, outdated or irrelevant information.
- Perform data validation and quality control checks.
- Mine data to identify trends, patterns and correlations.
- Develop solutions and recommendations to address information need.
- Prepare relevant documents to present the data.
Report Insights
- Develop automated and logical data models and data output methods.
- Design data reports and visualisation tools to facilitate data understanding.
- Be the main point of contact when data regarding the department is required by internal or external stakeholders.
Requirements
- 3 – 5 years with relevant experience.
- Experience in education operations settings will be an advantage.
- Degree in Economics, Data Management or other related disciplines.
- Good communication in English and Malay (verbal and written) with excellent interpersonal skills. We are seeking candidates proficient in Malay to effectively communicate with Malay-speaking clients.
- Good understanding of the education landscape in Singapore.
- Driven, resourceful and proactive individual who can work independently and in a team.
