Job Purpose

As a Manager of Data Governance in SMRT, you will be tasked to design and implement corporate data governance strategy and framework. You play a key role in implementing governance activities to ensure the company has a good data foundation on which trusted information that can be used for critical business processes, decision making and accounting to meet overall business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Define and design organisation's data management and governance strategy.
  • Implementation of data governance policies and develop standard operating procedures.
  • Initiate data governance activities to ensure alignment and effective implementation across Business Groups.
  • Review data processing architecture and data sharing practice.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure a common understanding of data governance and advocate data management practices.

  • Establish and govern an enterprise data governance implementation roadmap.

Qualifications & Work Experience

  • Bachelor's degree and above in Analytics, Information Systems Management, Computer Science or related fields.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data governance.
  • Prior experience in implementing data governance framework.
  • Good knowledge of the overall governance framework, including operating model, data governance, data management, data security, data quality and data architecture.
  • Good understanding of metadata management, reference data management, master data management, and data quality.

Our Team:
As a team, we are responsible for managing and enhancing ESG-related content for the Bloomberg Terminal and Enterprise products, including company-reported and normalized metrics, key analytical ratios, industry-specific metrics, and proprietary scores. The Role:
The Sustainable Finance Data team is looking for a highly motivated individual with a passion for sustainable finance, ESG data, quality, and technology to strengthen our data products by driving the implementation of robust data quality strategies and assurance practices. As a Senior Data Management Professional, you will help develop our business outcome-based data strategies to optimize the value of data for our customers and improve data operations. You will apply your problem-solving skills to design and refine quality control processes, ensure data integrity, and support automation of validation workflows to scale effectively. Additionally, you will measure and articulate the impact of your initiatives using business intelligence tools and data quality metrics. This role offers the opportunity to lead global quality initiatives, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor junior colleagues developing in data quality and stewardship.
You'll need to have:
Excellent written and verbal language proficiency in English and Korean as you will cover Korean content
A BA/BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Environmental Science, or a related field—or equivalent professionalqualifications
4+ years of experience in data quality management, quality assurance, or data governance within the finance or technology industry
Demonstrated experience developing data quality metrics, reporting frameworks, and governance processes as part of larger data architecture initiatives
Demonstrated knowledge of data management principles, including data modeling, ETL processes, and workflow design
Proficiency in data analysis and profiling using tools such as Python, R, SQL, and BI platforms, with the ability to identify data quality issues and generate actionable insights
Foundational understanding of statistics and the ability to interpret data to inform business decisions and craft compelling narratives
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and effective problem-solving abilities
Proven ability to manage multiple global projects in parallel and collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders
A strong ability to combine technical skills with business insight to improve data quality and operational outcomes
Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organisation
We'd love to see:
Strong knowledge and understanding of the Sustainable Finance market and sustainability related topics, with preference for experience working with a range of disclosure frameworks and standards, including but not limited to TCFD, ISSB, GRI
Experience profiling datasets and coming up with necessary requirements
Good understanding of data modeling concepts
Experience manipulating and wrangling large datasets
Familiarity with use cases of advanced statistical methods such as Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Natural Language Processing

Overview
INSEAD is seeking an ETL Project Manager (Talend) to join our Digital department. This is a full-time, short term (6 months) contract position based at our Asia Campus in Singapore or Europe France in Fontainebleau, France. A hybrid working model is in place – 3 days on campus, 2 days from home.
The Digital department at INSEAD supports the school's global operations by delivering cutting-edge technological solutions that enhance teaching, research, and administrative functions. It ensures seamless integration of digital tools and infrastructure across all campuses, fostering innovation and operational efficiency.
Your role within the team
Project delivery: Manages the entire project lifecycle from assessing the business problem, through definition, detailed planning, implementation and delivery while balancing the 3 dimensions of a project which are scope/quality, cost/resources and schedule/timeline.
Proposal & Planning: proposes one or several well-documented, if applicable, financially established solutions clearly outlining the pros and cons of each in use cases. Compiles status reports on the various projects.
Communication: facilitates seamless communication with key stakeholders along the progress of the project and ensures they can make well-informed decisions. Organizes and structures the project with clear milestones, meetings, workshops, collaboration tools and appropriate communication channels and processes. Security and data: ensures to always follow and enforces INSEAD security policies and practices through the project he/she manages. Each project should also be considering of the data usage.
Relationship management: cultivates strong, collaborative relationships between external and internal stakeholders, including Digital departments, across diverse cultures and INSEAD campuses; fostering trust, cooperation among all contributors and facilitates healthy conversations.
Stakeholder engagement: Acts as a reliable key contact, shares knowledge, gives regular updates, provides guidance and is able to recommend solutions across multiple projects and business areas.
Standards/Innovation: respects all relevant INSEAD standards (development, CI .) in his/her activities, under special application of all state-of-the-art technical and ergonomic design standards. Proposes new creative approaches based on INSEAD strategy and commitments.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Information Systems/Computer Science or equivalent.
Certificate: PMP or Scrum Master.
More than 5 years of Project Management experience.
Exposure working in a Data Engineering environment – data integration, ETL, data modeling.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Tools: Jira and Talend Open Studio for Data Integration.
