The Regional Data Centers Business Development Manager is a strategic addition to the Grid automation business and is responsible to develop the business in the focus segment of Data Centers for Grid Automation focused primarily on products and system sales within Automation and Communication (AC) business, APAC region.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- You will own the market definition, segmentation and prospecting plan for the focus segment
- You will be responsible for the key opportunities' identification and stakeholder management within those target accounts
- You will increase the pipeline and orders in APAC Data Center segment.
- You will support value proposition meetings by localizing technical proposals and attending Front-End-Sales / DtC BDM customer meetings.
- You will be leading or supporting under Hitachi Energy – Grid Automation guidance and best-practice (Pre-)FEED studies with a focus on Data center Hyper-Scalers and Colocation investments.
- You will identify, interpret, and prioritize local regulatory standards and requirements and coordinate the internal stakeholders in the region and the Global Product Group.
- You will support and collaborate with the local sales team, cross collaborating with business units and global business developers and experts from the Global Product Group (GPG).
- You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

- You hold a bachelor's degree.

+ **Drive contract review and feedback loops:** Collaborate with Legal, category managers, and site teams to evaluate contract terms in the field, close interpretational gaps, and ensure alignment between contractual intent and site-level needs.

+ **Experience collaborating across technical and non-technical teams:** Demonstrated ability to translate complex supplier or contract issues into clear next steps, align cross-functional teams, and coordinate resolution across site, legal, and procurement stakeholders.
+ **Track record of delivering operational programs or supplier-facing initiatives:** Has led or contributed to structured programs such as supplier onboarding, contract walkthroughs, performance reviews, or escalation management efforts.
**Additional or Preferred Qualifications (PQs)**
+ **Data center operations experience preferred:** Direct engagement with operational stakeholders in live or newly commissioned data center environments. Familiarity with site procedures and supplier interactions in APAC is strongly preferred.
+ **Working knowledge of critical infrastructure systems:** Understanding of how suppliers support power, mechanical, and monitoring systems such as UPS, generators, chillers, switchgear, BAS, and EPMS within a data center environment.
+ **Cross-functional program leadership in APAC:** Experience leading initiatives involving legal, site operations, regional business operations, and supply chain teams to solve region-specific challenges.

What you will do:
The Application Engineer (Data Center Project) is responsible for technical support – primarily customer quotations and business development case studies for various composite applications. Key emphasis will be on the ability to understand customer requirements and rapidly demonstrate how composite based solutions can be utilized to provide solutions with costing, timing, and resources included in the proposals. This position will require travel with the business development team to customer facilities during visits to discuss these future opportunities in depth.
How you will do it:
Provides customer support by responding to requests for technical queries with detailed analysis of building management system, schedule of creation, tooling costing, and submittal of design and process improvements, when applicable, to meet all customer product needs.
Works with engineering, sales, and ops staff to understand standard component fabrication techniques, standard composite materials to use, and current demands of our customers to formulate design details for the sales staff and our customers.
·Provides product technical engineering information by creating and giving presentations on customer proposals. This contains, but is not limited to, 3D representations of finished goods, 3D representations of tooling, etc.
·Prepares cost estimates by studying blueprints, plans, and related customer documents; consulting with engineers, and other professional and technical personnel.
Conceptual design of composite components and assemblies to support proposals
Generate solid and surface component and assembly CAD models
Ability to compose detailed bill of materials for proposals
Work as part of a team of design and engineering and ops staff
Knowledge of ACMV and controls associate with Johnson Control Metasys will be an advantage
What we look for:
Bachelor's Degree in Process & Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering with minimum 1 year relevant working experience
Possess knowledge in PLC programming. Pcvue or ICONICS software
Transportation composite or other composite experience preferred
Willing to learn new things
Demonstrates expertise in ACMV system design, including AHU, FCU, VAV systems, and chillers

- Manage warranty claims and coordinate with vendors for Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs), including processing, packaging, shipping, and tracking per SLA requirements.
