About the Team
ByteDance Data Center Development team is responsible for building Data Center and Network in the Asia Pacific region. Our work involves, but not limiting to, data center innovation, implementing advanced technologies and renewable energy to achieve carbon-neutrality, rapid project delivery, capacity planning, process and risk control, cost management, etc. Our objective is to provide ByteDance with efficient Data Center infrastructure services to support our business growth.
The Technical and Innovation team is responsible for technical planning and management of built-to-suit and leased data center projects in Asia Pacific region, data center infrastructure technology standardisation and research and development, as well as promoting green energy and achieving carbon neutrality as part of our global roadmap.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to;
- Support data center site selection related task, responsible for technical compliance evaluation of design submission by data center provider
- Collaborate with external data center providers and internal subject matter experts to provide technical inputs in the design review of various critical systems as well as other disciplines for data centers to ensure compliance to the basis of design
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure specific requirements are incorporated into the data center infrastructure design as well as data hall fit-out
- Participate in regular follow-up of data center construction and fit-out works
- Involvement in testing and commissioning of the data center critical systems (including review of test script, witnessing of test on site) and handover to data center operations team
- Collaborate with the data center operations team and provide support as and when required. Support local operation team for trouble-shooting and optimizing design standards
- Participate and work closely with the design team for localisation effort of data center standards & critical equipment specifications
- Support Ad-Hoc project management tasks as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- At least 5 years of relevant large-scale data center or other mission critical building design experience. Particularly, data center design principles such as power and cooling calculation, redundancy, etc
- Some travel to data center sites is required
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant experience of advanced electrical/liquid-cooling technologies design and deployment
- Certified Chartered/Professional Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities:
Organise, coordinate, and supervise the in-house facilities team and appointed sub-contractors to ensure smooth operation of the data centre infrastructure. Collate and manage all technical specifications, O&M documentation, and as-built drawings. Compile and track all preventive and predictive maintenance programmes using appropriate software.
Manage emergency incidents, equipment faults, and ad-hoc breakdowns. Provide technical support and be present on-site when required to minimise downtime and ensure business continuity.
Oversee all critical facilities systems including UPS, CRAC, chillers, generators, electrical distribution, fire suppression systems, water leakage detection, and Building Management System (BMS) to ensure 24/7 reliability and optimal performance.
Lead the Data Centre facilities team to operate/maintain 100% availability for the Data Centre facility with compliance to agreed SLAs, Legal, Budget, Audit requirements and ensure satisfactory customer experience at all times. This includes project planning, design and implementation.
Prepare monthly reports, technical incident reports, and root cause analysis for all system faults or downtime events. Provide findings and recommendations to the Board or Management.
Implement and oversee the Permit-to-Work (PTW) system for all critical environment works. Ensure all works are properly coordinated and comply with safety, operational, and risk management requirements.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Review and approve risk assessments and method statements from all contractors. Conduct regular audits, inspections, and spot checks to enforce safe work practices.
Lead and ensure smooth 24x7 running of the operations in the data centre.
Manage works progress, prepare monthly progress and maintenance reports, certify work done, and manage variation orders where required.
Oversee the daily operations of the data centre facility, including inspections, site walks, vendor coordination, and resolving operational issues promptly.
Manage communication with tenants, service providers, and internal teams to ensure all action items are closed in a professional and timely manner.
Any other duties assigned to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the data centre.
Job Requirements:
Degree from recognised tertiary establishment in Facility Management / Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Building Services.
Minimum 5 years relevant experience in Facilities Operation in managing large-scale properties with at least 100,000m2 of GFA.
Experience in Data Centre Facility Management (DCFM) and CDFOM will be preferred.
Class 3 driving license will have added advantage.
Good interpersonal soft skills and verbal & written communication.
Good working knowledge and understanding of maintenance and contracts.
Tier 2 CFME accreditation will be an added advantage.

Oversee all critical facilities systems including UPS, CRAC, chillers, generators, electrical distribution, fire suppression systems, water leakage detection, and Building Management System (BMS) to ensure 24/7 reliability and optimal performance.
Lead the Data Centre facilities team to operate/maintain 100% availability for the Data Centre facility with compliance to agreed SLAs, Legal, Budget, Audit requirements and ensure satisfactory customer experience at all times. This includes project planning, design and implementation.
Prepare monthly reports, technical incident reports, and root cause analysis for all system faults or downtime events. Provide findings and recommendations to the Board or Management.
Implement and oversee the Permit-to-Work (PTW) system for all critical environment works. Ensure all works are properly coordinated and comply with safety, operational, and risk management requirements.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Review and approve risk assessments and method statements from all contractors. Conduct regular audits, inspections, and spot checks to enforce safe work practices.
Lead and ensure smooth 24x7 running of the operations in the data centre.
Manage works progress, prepare monthly progress and maintenance reports, certify work done, and manage variation orders where required.
Oversee the daily operations of the data centre facility, including inspections, site walks, vendor coordination, and resolving operational issues promptly.
Manage communication with tenants, service providers, and internal teams to ensure all action items are closed in a professional and timely manner.
Any other duties assigned to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the data centre.
Job Requirements:
Degree from recognised tertiary establishment in Facility Management / Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Building Services.
Minimum 5 years relevant experience in Facilities Operation in managing large-scale properties with at least 100,000m2 of GFA.
Experience in Data Centre Facility Management (DCFM) and CDFOM will be preferred.
Class 3 driving license will have added advantage.
Good interpersonal soft skills and verbal & written communication.
Good working knowledge and understanding of maintenance and contracts.
Tier 2 CFME accreditation will be an added advantage.
