Job Summary:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and meticulous Indoor Vertical Farm Worker to join our team. This hands-on role involves a combination of automated and manual tasks, ensuring smooth operations of our high-tech vertical farm. You'll help cultivate, monitor, and harvest crops, operate automation systems, and maintain the equipment that keeps our farm running efficiently. This is a physically demanding role requiring attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to quality.

What you'll do

  • Farm Operations:

  • Implement and execute measures to ensure farm readiness for cultivation, including preparing feed, nutrient solutions, and supplies.

  • Carry out daily farm tasks from seeding to harvesting, ensuring crops meet quality and yield targets.
  • Perform manual seeding, harvesting, sorting and packaging processes (as assigned).
  • Operate automated equipment such as auto seeding machines, sorting machines, and packaging systems to streamline farm operations.
  • Monitor and inspect the health of plants and systems to ensure the quality of produce, performing necessary corrective actions.
  • Inspect and maintain equipment, ensuring operational readiness and consistency, including automated systems.
  • Teamwork and Coordination:

  • Coordinate with fellow team members to ensure smooth operations and efficient completion of daily tasks.

  • Collaborate with team technicians to carry out all necessary farm functions, ensuring timely and high-quality output.
  • Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to personnel safety protocols and basic food safety practices, with training provided on the job.

  • Ensure all processes comply with relevant safety standards and environmental regulations.

Work Schedule: 5.5 Days per Week (Rostered Shifts) including weekends and PH.

What you'll need:

  • Essential:

  • Physically able to lift up 10 kg, and stand for 6-8 hours per shift.

  • Good team player with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to use farm equipment (training will be provided).
  • Willingness to work weekends or off-days as needed.
  • Preferred:

  • A diploma in Horticulture, Agricultural Technology, or a related field.

  • Knowledge or experience in plant science, pest management, and food safety is a plus, but not required.
  • Previous experience in vertical farming or agriculture is beneficial.
  • Experience operating automated systems such as seeding, sorting, or packaging machinery is an advantage.
