Roles & Responsibilities

The APAC Global Security Operations Centre (GSOC) Specialist will be an integral member of the 24/7/365 team in the Singapore-based APAC GSOC providing intelligence collection and analysis, risk incident triage and escalation as well as crisis management support to the firm across APAC. This is an opportunity to grow within a mature corporate security operation and work with seasoned security experts, overseeing a broad and diverse portfolio of responsibilities and geographies. The successful candidate should be a driven and resilient individual, with the ability to perform under pressure and deliver across competing priorities.

  • Incident Management: Support senior management and line-of-business (LOB) stakeholders closely by triaging risks and ensuring continuance of business functions during any incident or crisis.
  • Intelligence: Proactively gather and analyze information from various sources and draft reports to provide management and global contacts with useful and actionable intelligence.
  • Travel Security: Manage and administer travel security operations including tracking, assisting and advising international travelers on any incident or crisis.
  • Regional Aptitude: Oversee the firm's local incident management teams throughout the APAC region, and coordinate with other regional GSOCs for international incidents or crises.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with Real Estate, Global Technology Infrastructure, Resiliency, LOB Business Resiliency and Global Security managers to ensure effective coordination of crisis management policies.
  • Operational Support: Perform tasks and projects under Global Security operations, including Technical and Physical Security tasks.
  • Manage any other duties or projects as directed by APAC Global Security senior managers.

Requirements

· Strong knowledge and interest in security and geo-political developments across APAC with the initiative to rapidly assess emerging themes, events and incidents for the potential to impact business, client and third-party locations and business travelers across region.

· Bachelor's degree or post-graduate level qualification, particularly in relevant fields such as security studies, international relations, social sciences or the humanities is preferred, although a Polytechnic diploma in relevant disciplines is a minimum.

· Strong command of English (written and spoken), as well as one additional Asian language.

· Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment while consistently producing error-free work and meeting deadlines. Strong analytical, interpersonal skills and comprehensive computer skills (good understanding of all Microsoft applications).

· Willingness to learn, develop and work with a sense of urgency to contribute to complex and multifaceted team objectives.

Shift nature of role

About the role

As a Head of Crisis Management, Emerging Markets, you will be responsible for leading the strategic direction, governance, and execution of crisis and incident management capabilities of Reckitt's global operations.

This includes preparing for, responding to, and recovering from crises that have the potential to significantly impact people, products, supply chains, assets, or reputation across multiple markets. You will serve as a key advisor to leadership, driving resilience activities and ensuring Reckitt is prepared for transboundary and high-impact disruptions.

You will work closely with global, regional, and local sites to enhance the agility and robustness of Reckitt's Operations.

Your mission is to help protect and safegaurd Reckitt's operations by strengthening its crisis readiness and preparedness from within. The candidate will play a key role in upskilling Reckitt to prepare for, respond to and recover from incidents and crisis. The candidate will need to collaborate closely with colleagues from Global and Regional roles across functions and key business partners to support all Reckitt businesses and manufacturing sites.

Your responsibilities

Strategic Issues & Crisis Management

  • Lead and/or support the management of critical events and crisis management efforts across all brands in close alignment with key business partners such as Quality, RAS, Employe Health & Safety, Legal and Corporate Security Leadership and others.
  • Supports local leadership teams in mitigating issues and managing incidents on a need basis.
  • Engage with the Regional & Area business/functional executives to drive awareness and engagement to ensure that region/country-specific needs are met, and risk mitigation strategies are in place.
  • Be the point contact to all critical events in the operational time zone.

Crisis Preparedness & Scenario Planning

  • Supports the development of the training curriculum on crisis management, scenario planning and workshops by incl. deploying, training and exercise programs.
  • Support the Global Crisis Director to identify and prepare for high-risk, high-impact events such as geopolitical disruptions, cyberattacks, pandemics, climate events, product recalls, and civil unrest.
  • Benchmarks best internal and external practices for crisis management development and execution
  • Builds and maintains a crisis manager network to synthesize crisis management standards, plans, trainings, skills and capabilities.

Real-Time Incident Response

  • Act as global incident commander during critical high-impact crises, coordinating timely, effective responses
  • Provide strategic guidance to executive leadership during active crisis events.
  • Ensure real-time communication and alignment with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators and media teams.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including regional crisis teams, governments, NGOs, and industry bodies.

Monitoring, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor and report KPIs/dashboards to assess crisis readiness and track post-event performance.
  • Lead post-incident reviews, root-cause analyses, and after-action reporting to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure local sites are aware of priority business risks (high likelihood & high impact) and have appropriate mitigation plans in place and ready to be executed when needed.
The experience we're looking for
  • Minimum of 6+ years of Crisis Management / Risk Management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline such as Public Relations, Regulatory, Corporate Affairs, Risk Management, Supply Chain, or related field. Masters preferred.
  • Proven track record on managing critical events and operating in high-pressure situations.
  • Working knowledge of risk management, supply chain operations, regulatory compliance, or business continuity planning in a corporate setting.
  • Solid judgment / temperament in dealing with confidential and sensitive information and issues.
  • Strong time management, with ability to adapt in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Team player and strong collaboration skills to blend into a multi-cultural, multi-functional work environment
  • Comfortable to work under pressure, strong track record to manage multiple projects at once and solid priority setting.

The Regional Security and Crisis Management role will report into the Senior Director, E&PS APAC Regional Lead and will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of J&J’s personnel, assets and operations within the region. Covers 10 countries and 31 'In-Scope Sites' + On Demand Sites if required.


Acting as the security domain expert within the regional E&PS organization, using their expertise to support the development and implementation of regional and site security strategies, aligned to the J&J Global Security strategies, standards and policies, and ensure a coordinated and effective response to potential incidents.

Maximising their communication and customer leadership skills, the individual will foster partnerships between E&PS, Global Security and security Partners to drive alignment across the organization and enable J&J to effectively respond to a constantly changing security landscape!


Supporting crisis management efforts in region, taking a proactive role in identifying and mitigating risks to ensure business continuity during times of potential disruption. Working closely with customers across J&J to develop and implement effective response plans, ensuring the organization is well-prepared to navigate potential crises. The role will guide response efforts to contain incidents as they arise and will conduct detailed post-incident reviews to identify lessons learned, improve future preparedness, and drive continuous improvement.


Job Responsibilities:

Security (Approximate Percentage of Time 70%):

  • Partner with Global Security and E&PS security peers to develop the Regional security partnership strategies
  • Input into security training strategy and programs developed by the J&J Global Security team
  • Provide regional oversight of security contract and vendor management activities.
  • Partner closely with Global Security, who own the overall security strategy, standards and business engagement regarding their introduction and compliance, to ensure timely dissemination, understanding and execution of new/updated security policies, standards and risk ratings within the FM organization
  • Partner with regional security provider to identify and develop innovative ideas
  • Identification and development of insights for security related trends, including their impact on the organization and services required
  • Provide SME support to FM regional organization for contractor governance, performance management and continuous improvement
  • Ensure risk assessments and event root cause analysis are performed according to J&J Global Security Standards
  • Partner with Security provider, Global Security and E&PS timely for closure of corrective and preventive actions
  • Provide SME support the FM regional organization to develop and implement regional partnership implementation strategies
  • Act as the regional E&PS security SME to provide input and support all key site service delivery management activities including issue escalation
  • Work with organizational peers to share lessons learned, best practice insights and regional trends

Crisis Management (Approximate Percentage of Time 30% ):

  • During crisis events, crisis management responsibilities will supersede security-related duties
  • Lead Regional CMT meetings, establish clear decision-making processes and action management, establish mechanisms to gather real-time information during a crisis and update on activity to RCMT, GCMT and senior leaders as appropriate
  • Participation as a Core CMT member for all activated LCMTs to guide and introduce Regional SME support to address emerging critical issues
  • Lead After Action Reviews (AAR) to recognise and address lessons learned for all deactivated CMTs and other ongoing CMT activity in Region to enable continuous improvement of crisis management protocols
  • In collaboration with CM PMO, support proactive development of threat specific crisis management strategies to prepare for anticipated risks in region, including resource allocation and training as required
  • Partner with the Core Regional CMT (E&PS Regional Lead, Global Security Regional, Lead, One HR Regional Lead, Global Corporate Affairs Regional Lead and ISRM Regional Lead) during active crises to agree live crisis management approach!
  • Lead assessment of reported incidents and threats with Core Regional CMT to determine realized or potential impacts to the company that may necessitate activation of a CMT. Communicating recommended response to reported incidents to Regional CMT and senior leaders.
  • Lead socialization and training events to roll out updated CM Playbook in Region
  • Maintain a digital registry of CMT networks for all markets/sub-regions and sites in Region and lead ongoing training program to maintain capability (i.e. new CMT members)
  • Ensure standard application of the J&J Crisis Management process, resources and digital tools in running crisis across the region in connection with the CM PMO
  • Participate in quarterly Crisis Council Governance process to review crisis response effectiveness in preparedness strategies

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree or post-graduate level qualification, particularly in relevant fields such as security studies, international relations, social sciences or the humanities is preferred, although a Polytechnic diploma in relevant disciplines is a minimum.

· Strong command of English (written and spoken), as well as one additional Asian language.

· Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment while consistently producing error-free work and meeting deadlines. Strong analytical, interpersonal skills and comprehensive computer skills (good understanding of all Microsoft applications).
