What you will be working on
As part of the CRIS Corporate Communications team, you will lead end-to-end communications and engagement strategy for CRIS and its business units to communicate its strategic goals and ensure a unified message. This includes shaping the CRIS narrative by delivering inspiring and engaging communications to illustrate CRIS’s goals in keeping Singapore at the forefront of innovation by bringing together key national research programmes that will advance clinical research and innovation for Singapore and establish important capabilities for a future-ready healthcare system.
You will be involved in a wide range of communications work, including corporate branding, digital marketing and communications, media relations, stakeholder engagement and event management. Some examples include strengthening the CRIS identity, developing visual content for internal and external communications, rolling out publicity for CRIS' key initiatives via digital channels and mainstream media, and providing communications direction and strategy to the various teams and key stakeholders in CRIS. You will also be involved in a workgroup to develop a Public and Patient Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) strategy for CRIS and its programmes, aligned to broader research strategy goals with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Strategic Comms and Brand Management
Shape the strategic communications strategy for CRIS and Programmes, liaising with Business Units (BU) Management and Directors
Develop marketing campaigns to support the outreach efforts of programmes within CRIS. This will include working with internal teams and stakeholders for information gathering, and vendor management
Strengthen CRIS and programmes’ brand presence through corporate branding and development (Develop brochures, design eGreetings, manage catalogue of corporate gifts)
Support events run by CRIS programmes such as Memorandum of Understanding (MOU signing, Webinars and Roadshows, and align these with the communications strategy to promote the goals of CRIS and its BUs
Plan and manage external agencies / vendors to develop campaigns aligned to communications objectives (design, marketing, public relations)
Oversee the development of communications-related working instructions and protocols and enhance operational, administration and logistical work processes for the department
Digital Marketing and Content Creation
Drive and implement social media strategy in alignment with CRIS’ strategic goals
Clear content for all social media posts (LinkedIn)
Manage editorial pipeline of website articles for programmes within CRIS
Monitor and track the effectiveness of social media campaigns and initiatives
Ensure aligned messaging across all digital channels (i.e. website, social media, internal communications)
Public relations and Media Engagement
Develop and lead the media strategies for high key events by CRIS and Business Units. Ensure effective send out of press releases, ensure clearance with multiple stakeholders and liaise with media outlets
Drive the department’s public relations and media engagement efforts
Curate and onboard suite of suitable external agencies / vendors to develop campaigns / programmes to achieve communications objectives
Team Management and Corporate Responsibilities
The AD role will manage a small team and be accountable for the team’s output including performance management, staff development and resource planning.
This role will be within the CRIS HQ corporate team and the individual is expected to work collaboratively with the other functions (HR, IT, Finance, Legal, Planning, Facilities)
Requirements
At least 8-10 years of relevant experience in corporate communications and/or related work, experience in design, digital communications, and marketing communications will be advantageous
An eye for compelling and effective visual communications
Experience in shaping overall digital media strategy across content creation, curation and platform management (e.g. LinkedIn)
Track record experience in writing for various audiences (scientific community / members of the public), with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts and technologies in an engaging way
Possess strong project management and critical thinking skills. Ability to deliver quality work within scope, timeline and budget, working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the project runs smoothly, to meet target objectives and goals set.

**About this role**
BlackRock Asia Pacific Corporate Communications is looking for a Director, based in Hong Kong or Singapore, to lead strategic communications for corporate priorities and our technology platform. This includes developing and executing proactive, multi-channel campaigns that drive high-impact commercial outcomes for our business, as well as the firm's technology and innovation agenda. An important part of BlackRock's Corporate Affairs function, the Global Corporate Communications team leads all internal and external communications that advance our purpose of helping more and more people experience financial well-being. The team is responsible for driving compelling communications strategies and stakeholder engagement strategies that enhance our culture, drive growth, strengthen our reputation, and build our brand.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Partner closely with senior executives, business leaders, marketing, public policy, and members of the Corporate Communications team across different markets to develop proactive, multi-channel communications campaigns that drive commercial growth and impact.
+ Provide counsel to business leaders and other internal partners to ensure an integrated and aligned strategy for increasing understanding of the Aladdin platform and its capabilities.
+ Plan and drive innovative media engagement programs that build greater understanding and recognition of our brand, businesses, and social contributions.
+ Maintain strong relationships with media and continuously build new relationships (across print/broadcast/online) including with business/financial/technology media, trade, and national media.
+ Support internal communications as needed, including with select executive communications.
**Qualifications:**
+ A seasoned professional with proven experience in fast-paced, strategic communications role(s) in the financial services industry
+ Demonstrated understanding of the asset management industry, capital markets, investment products and financial technology.
+ Experience engaging with senior executives; navigating complex, global organizations; and fostering collaborative decision-making among senior stakeholders.
+ Exceptional media relations capabilities and the ability to translate complex topics to simple, compelling narratives.
+ A mature, independent achiever who is comfortable driving initiatives from inception to conclusion, with strong project management skills and attention to detail.
+ A team player able to work effectively in a matrixed reporting environment - adaptable, reliable with a consistent 'can do attitude'.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to translate complex concepts, ideas, and business agendas into clear, concise high-impact deliverables.
+ Track record of developing strategic, impactful communications plans across earned, owned, and paid that align with business priorities.
+ Demonstrated ability leveraging AI wherever possible to enhance our approach and team efficiency.

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Media Relations Manager to significantly amplify Tzu Chi’s impactful stories, strengthen our public presence, and inspire greater community engagement through strategic media outreach and fostering strong relationships with media partners

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Communication Planning
  • Work with leadership and editorial teams to develop and implement strategic media communication plans aligned with Tzu Chi’s vision and organizational priorities.

  • Media Relations and Public Exposure
    • Build and maintain contact lists of mainstream media, online platforms, and KOLs (including nano-influencers), cultivating long-term partnerships.
    • Draft and edit bilingual press releases, media invitations, and spokesperson scripts; adapt content for regular dissemination through media partners.

  • Media Engagement and Event Coordination
    • Plan and execute media-facing events, such as press conferences, opening ceremonies, and interviews, managing protocols and logistics.
    • Coordinate with internal teams and volunteers to ensure smooth media facilitation and consistent messaging.

  • Monitoring, Analysis, and Crisis Communication
    • Monitor media and social platforms to track coverage and sentiment; compile regular reports and inform strategic adjustments.
    • Activate crisis communication procedures and coordinate official statements during significant events or reputational risks.

  • Media Requests and External Liaison
    • Serve as the main liaison for media inquiries, assessing collaboration proposals and managing interview arrangements.
    • Coordinate with internal units to provide accurate and timely information aligned with leadership direction.

  • Cross-Departmental Coordination
    • Consolidate updates from Tzu Chi’s various missions and confirm messaging with spokespersons for public release.
    • Manage partner requests for media materials, ensuring compliance with branding, copyrights, and data protection policies.

  • Annual Report Coordination
    • Oversee the production of the annual report with internal stakeholders and vendors, ensuring factual and editorial accuracy.
    • Track progress, lead content compilation, and maintain high publication standards.

  • Volunteer and Spokesperson Training
    • Mobilize Media Relations volunteers to support media receptions and outreach efforts.
    • Plan and implement internal spokesperson training with regular briefings and media response simulations.

    Job Requirements

    • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.

    • Minimum 3 years of experience in media relations, mainstream media, multimedia production, or a closely related field involving project coordination and planning.
    • Bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese (written and spoken) are essential.

    • Strong knowledge of mainstream media operations and keen awareness of current affairs.

    • Proven experience in crisis communication and reputation management.

    • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while maintaining effective teamwork.

    • Passionate about NGO/VWO work, with alignment to Tzu Chi’s values will be an advantage.

    • Willingness to work outside office hours occasionally, with time-off provided as compensation.
