Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure appropriate focus on High risk and Very High risks where appropriate.

  • Product knowledge required

What impact can you make in this role?
You will be a critical contributor to the success of the Data Technology and Operations Masterplan (DTOM) Program that is tasked with simplifying GIC’s operating platform, building critical new enterprise data capabilities, and delivering a platform that is flexible and can scale to meet GIC’s strategic ambition. What will you do as a Solution Architect?
The Solution Architect role is part of the newly formed GIC Architecture Practice. This role is responsible for designing and guiding the implementation of innovative operations and technology solutions that meet the needs of the business. You will report to the Enterprise Architect within the COO’s Office.
In your role as Solution Architect, you will be responsible for:

  • The design and development of solutions that meet business requirements, while ensuring alignment with the GIC “North Star” target architecture
  • Support the successful implementation of new business capabilities and systems

Your knowledge of GIC, the asset management industry, and associated operational processes and IT platforms will allow you to provide commercially viable and practical solutions that deliver business value and can be implemented within required timeframes.

Working with the Architecture Practice, DTOM Program, Technology, and Investment Services teams, GIC’s vendor partners, and other business stakeholders your responsibilities are to:

  • Review and interpret business requirement specifications and define associated end-to-end operational and technical solutions covering operating model, applications, data, and integration
  • Work with application vendors and service providers in the formulation of end-to-end solutions
  • Engage with business stakeholders to ensure solutions are complete, fit-for-purpose, and meet business needs
  • Manage the process of solution architecture development within agreed timeframes and ensure compliance with GIC’s North Star, design principles, and relevant policies and standards
  • Communicate solutions to business stakeholders, project and product teams, application vendors, service providers, and technical teams to ensure understanding and acceptance of solutions
  • Provide ongoing support and governance during solution implementation to resolve issues, manage any required solution changes, and ensure solutions are implemented as expected to meet business needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Solution Development:
    • Lead the design and deployment of scalable and robust operations & technology solutions in support of investment capabilities, risk management, and operational efficiencies
    • Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies that align with the fund's goals
    • Develop solutions tailored to meet business requirements, and satisfying scalability, performance, and security non-functional requirements
    • Lead the end-to-end implementation of solutions, ensuring alignment with the overall architectural vision
  • Collaboration and Leadership:
    • Partner with cross-functional teams, including investment professionals, Technology, Operations, and project teams to understand business needs, design appropriate solutions, and support successful delivery
    • Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather requirements and present architectural proposals
  • Governance & Compliance:
    • Ensure solutions are compliant with the North Star enterprise architecture, design principles, policies and standards, and regulatory requirements
    • Guide solutions through the required governance processes and gain approval
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Present architecture proposals to senior management and key stakeholders, articulating the value and impact of proposed solutions
  • Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing:
    • Mentor junior architects and technical staff, promoting best practices in solution architecture and development
    • Share knowledge and insights with team members and stakeholders to foster a culture of continuous improvement
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Create and maintain documentation for architectural designs, processes, and systems
    • Prepare reports and presentations for senior management, showcasing progress on Total Portfolio operations and technology initiatives and architectural advancements
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, advancements in technology, and best practices in investment management systems to continually enhance the fund’s technology landscape
  • Lead initiatives aimed at driving innovation within the organization through the adoption of new technologies and methodologies
  • Conduct research and evaluations of emerging technologies, assessing their potential impact on the fund's operations and investment strategies
  • Provide recommendations for technology adoption, ensuring alignment with organizational goals

What makes you a successful candidate?

  • Ideally 10 years (VP) or 14 years (SVP) of solution architecture/business or technical analysis/software engineering experience

What Impact will you make in this role?

You will support the Private Equity COO office and a team of investment professionals.

What will you do as an Executive Assistant?

· Provide secretariat and administrative duties

· Manage schedule, arrange and coordinate internal (e.g. team meetings, investment committee meetings etc.) and external meetings, upload documents onto relevant applications

· Organize business trips and prepare travel itineraries (i.e. book all aspects of business travel - flight, hotels, taxis, restaurants)

· Support on legal and compliance declarations and documentation for the team

· Work closely with executive assistants internally and externally across departments to coordinate team activities such as welcome and farewell sessions, retreats and department gatherings

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

· Minimum 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in supporting secretarial and administrative support to a team of professionals, which involved actively managing multiple individual calendars and frequent business trip planning

· Ability to be a dynamic team player and collaborate well across different teams

· High learning agility with good pro-activeness in problem solving and striving for greater efficiency and effectiveness in task management

· Highly organized and detail oriented, with the ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks, prioritize and meet engagement deadlines

· Good communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and organizational skills

· Good general knowledge of IT equipment and usage, including Outlook, Concur, Word, PowerPoint & Excel

· Experience in or strong knowledge of the asset management or finance industry is an added advantage
