We are seeking a strategic, hands-on and experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee and lead the day-to-day operations of our school campuses in Singapore and support the upcoming expansion into Japan.

This pivotal role requires a multi-disciplinary leader with proven experience in school operations, finance, HR, compliance, and strategic execution. The COO will be instrumental in driving operational excellence, compliance, and growth across all campuses.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operations Management

  • Lead, supervise and optimise daily operations across both Bukit Merah and Changi campuses.

  • Support the setup and operations of the Japan campus before and after launch.

  • Oversee school facilities, maintenance, safety and vendor management.

  • Manage academic school calendar, ECA and camps.

2. Purchasing and Procurement

  • Oversee purchasing for all campuses, including vendor selection, contract

  • negotiation, and cost control.

  • Ensure procurement policies are in line with best practices and budget guidelines.

3. Human Resources and Recruitment

  • Oversee HR processes

  • Ensure all HR policies comply with local employment regulations (MOM) and are effectively implemented.

  • Foster a positive workplace culture and manage staff grievances where needed.

4. Finance and Budgeting

  • Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, expense management, and cash flow monitoring.

  • Liaise with accountants and auditors for compliance and statutory reporting.

  • Monitor KPIs, operational costs and identify areas for improvement.

  • Prepare monthly income statement and balance sheet

  • Prepare annual set of accounts for license renewal purposes.

5. Licensing and Compliance

  • Ensure all school operations comply with PEI licensing and audit requirements.

  • Prepare and manage all submissions for new licenses, renewals, nea classroom registrations, and inspections.

  • Liaise with relevant authorities on regulatory matters.

6. Admissions and Student Services

  • Oversee the admissions team with enrolment processes, student records, and parent communication.

  • Ensure admissions targets are set and met

  • Oversee the development and implementation of school policies related to student welfare, attendance, and discipline.

7. Strategic Reporting and Governance

  • Provide monthly and quarterly operational reports to the Board and Senior Leadership Team.

  • Contribute to strategic planning and execution of growth plans.

  • Participate in board meetings and assist in governance-related documentation.

8. Stakeholder & Team Management

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a cross-functional operations team across campuses.

  • Act as the main point of contact for internal departments and external partners regarding operational matters.

9. Legal and Director Duties

  • Serve as a Registered Director of the entity and fulfil all duties and obligations accordingly.

  • Serve as School Manager registered with relevant authorities to represent school compliance and accountability.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Has a Chartered Accountant qualification who wants to be involved in

  • business operations.

  • Comfortable with technology (XERO, ERP software)

  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in operations or general management, preferably within the education or services sector.

  • Strong knowledge of Singapore regulatory frameworks (MOM, MOE, IRAS, ACRA,SSG).

  • Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills.

  • Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving abilities.

  • Experience managing multi-site operations is highly desirable.

  • Willingness to travel and support overseas expansion as required.
