1) Responsible for ensuring that the workplace is maintained in accordance with all safety regulations, that the tools, equipment, etc which workers will be required to use are adequate for the job and maintained in a safe manner and the methods and sequence.
2) Responsible for EHS communications and for the direct supervision and safety of his workers and subcontractors.
3) Issue of EHS instruction to his workers and subcontractors.
4) Ensures each worker has the knowledge, tools, equipment, PPE and direction to ensure the safe execution of the work.
5) Conducts daily inspection of his respective work areas to enforce standards and demonstrates support for the safe conduct of work.
6) Ensure that items requiring correction will be noted and acted upon immediately.
7) Ensure that a copy of the valid Permit-to-Work issued are clearly posted at the location where high risk construction work is being carried out and ensured that a copy is not removed until the date of expiry or date of revocation.
8) Attends and participates in tool box meeting.
9) Participates in a formal EHS inspection and patrols and monitors corrective actions.
10) Accountable to site engineer for the general environmental, health, and safety of all subcontractors and workers under his charge.
11) Willingness to undertake night shift duty.
