Responsible for the company's end-to-end sourcing of products related to manufacturing Bill of Materials (BOMs). The individual will handle all phases of sourcing to identify cost-saving opportunities, reduce lead times, manage supplier relationships, create competitive environments, negotiate creatively, and generate contracts to ensure the availability of products supporting company objectives.
- Source materials, components, and services at competitive prices to meet business requirements
- Develop and implement commodity strategies to categorize and transform the supply base to achieve company goals and business objectives
- Implement supplier agreements/contracts in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers to enable tactical buying for the Material Management Team (MMT) and meet business goals
- Address Project Requirement Planning (PRP) and Change Control System (CCS) issues affecting projects to meet program/business requirements
- Manage supplier relationships to maintain and develop mutually beneficial partnerships
- Support and participate in the company's continuous improvement programs
- Prepare quotations to support customer budget requests
- Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models
- Degree in Engineering, Logistics, or relevant qualification
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a commodity specialist or supply chain role within the manufacturing industry
- Ability to interpret technical documents (schematics, drawings, BOMs, specifications) to source OEM parts (mechanical & electrical)
- Experience in machining, sheet metals, or build-to-print parts (Cable assembly, PCBA, etc.) is an advantage
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) preferred
- Team player with good problem-solving skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Proficient in advanced Microsoft Excel functions

You are responsible to manage an intermediate group of commodities, activities included but not limited to sourcing and supplier qualification, drive cost reduction to achieve PPV targets, negotiate favourable terms and conditions so as to achieve lowest total cost of ownership, carry out periodic business reviews and supplier audits and help develop commodity strategies and supplier relationship. In addition, this incumbent needs to support new product introduction and product transfer activities.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Manage a commodity group specific to a manufacturing plant or region. Initiate and follow through cost reduction programs including total cost bench-marking, identify opportunities and execution.
- Carry out periodic price and contract review / negotiations with suppliers. Actively manage work flow in SAP and ensure that all price agreements are appropriately loaded.
- Supplier Management activities which include New Supplier On-boarding, Supplier Agreement or T&C Checklist, Supplier Periodic Business Reviews, Scorecards and Audits.
- Support and interface directly with management, manufacturing engineering, R&D, product marketing, and project management teams for new products, transfer products and sustaining product improvement programs.
- Develop and manage sourcing strategies enabling Low Cost Sourcing and off-shore sourcing to create supply base with ability to support the manufacturing strategy as well as customer satisfaction.
- Ensures services are delivered on time and meet quality standards. Identifies and resolves potential supplier problems.

- Ability to reach a solution with limited direction
- Supplier management and negotiation skill and experience
- Good communication, analytical skills and pro-activeness
- Familiarity with commercial terms and conditions
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma
- Collaboration and teamwork

Job Description
Purpose: Responsible for the company’s end-to-end sourcing of products related to manufacturing Bill of Materials (BOMs). In addition, the individual will be responsible for all phases of sourcing that require the skills necessary to identify cost-saving opportunities, lead-time reduction, supplier relationship management, create competitive environments, creatively negotiate, and generate contracts to assure the availability of all products to support the company objectives.
Key Area of Responsibilities:
- Source for materials, components, and service-related activities at the most competitive prices to fulfill business requirements.
- Develop and implement commodity strategies to categorize and transform the supply base that will ultimately achieve the company goal & and business objectives.
- Implement supplier agreements/contracts by working with cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers to enable tactical buying for the Material Management Team (MMT) and meet business goals.
- Address outstanding Project Requirement Planning (PRP) and Change Control System (CCS) affecting the project to meet program/business requirements.
- Manage supplier relationships to maintain and develop a win-win situation.
- Support and participate in company continuous improvement program.
- Prepare quotation to support customer budgetary request
- Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models
Qualification & Experiences:
- Degree in Engineering/logistics or other relevant qualification.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a commodity specialist/supply chain role in the manufacturing industry.
- Ability to interpret technical document(i.e.schematic/drawings/BOM/specifications) so as to source for OEM parts (mechanical & electrical)
- Work experience in machining, sheet metals or build to print parts (Cable assy, PCBA & etc) will be an added advantage
- More Experience candidate will be considered for Permanent role
