JOB SUMMARY

To produce high quality natural gas, energy and other commodities research for internal and external stakeholders, provide advisory services for the Bank's clients and build the Bank's profile as a thought-leader in energy and other commodities across media and clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy/Business

• Identify and escalate key market trends for management consideration
• Act as a trusted advisor to management on energy and other commodities and market related implications
• Foster strong relationships with key internal relationships with key internal stakeholders - commodities trading, sales and structuring.
• Gain client share of mind and deliver world-class commodities research and advice to external clients and key internal stakeholders.
• Explain key commodities trends, forecasts and strategies in clear and direct terms, appropriate for a wide range of audiences.
• Communicate the house views on commodities both within the bank and also externally to the client base and via key media outlets.
• Coordinate and support the relationship between commodities research and regional economists. Produce publications, both individually and as part of the wider commodities research team.
• Interact closely with the trading desk to promote two-way information flow and the leveraging of research. To meet and participate in team wide objectives
• To work closely with other team members in supporting the building of the profile and reputation of the commodities research group as a whole
• Foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders with interests in commodities at appropriate level ensuring open cooperative environment

Job scope:

• Plays an active role within the regional trading team by supporting deal entry, analysis, and reporting activities.
• Enters daily trade data into the Trading System across various deal types, ensuring accurate and timely communication with relevant stakeholders and adherence to deadlines.

Monitor and manage daily cash positions across multiple entities, currencies, and banking partners.
Execute payments, settlements, and cash pooling activities in a timely and accurate manner.
Ensure optimal utilization of cash resources and compliance with internal treasury policies.
Assist in short-term and long-term cash flow forecasting to support trading and corporate activities.
Support issuance, amendment, and negotiation of Letters of Credit (LCs), Standby LCs, and Bank Guarantees.
Liaise with banks to secure trade financing, working capital facilities, and competitive pricing.
Review and manage collateral requirements for commodity trades (e.g., margin calls, variation margins).
Maintain strong relationships with banking counterparts to support the company’s global operations.
Support execution and monitoring of FX, interest rate, and commodity hedging transactions.
Track and reconcile mark-to-market (MTM) exposures in coordination with risk and trading teams.
Ensure treasury activities comply with internal controls, audit standards, and regulatory requirements.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly treasury reports (liquidity, debt, FX exposure, and cash flow variance).
Analyze treasury KPIs, funding costs, and bank performance to recommend process improvements.
Assist with system enhancements, process automation, and treasury projects.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
2–4 years of relevant experience in treasury, corporate finance, or trade finance (preferably within oil & gas, commodities trading).
Strong understanding of cash management, FX products, trade finance instruments (LCs, guarantees), and risk management tools.
Proficiency in treasury management systems (TMS) and MS Excel; knowledge of SAP or similar systems is an advantage.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and multicultural trading environment.
