This is a 12-month contract, fully-onsite role based in Singapore.
Summary
This role requires a highly skilled DevOps Engineer with extensive experience in
GitHub, JFrog, Terraform, and Cloud technologies such as AWS and Azure.
He/she is expected to support the team in operational activities, including but not limited to platform support and maintenance, as well as development work related to these technologies.
Must haves
At least
5+ years of strong DevOps experience
with strong experience in
CI/CD pipeline and artifactory management.
Proficiency with CI/CD workflows such as
GitHub Action, Jenkins.
Proficiency with artifact repository management systems such as
JFrog, Nexus.
Strong Linux administration skills and
Shell scripting
expertise.
Experience with software engineering with in at least one of these programming languages:
JavaScript, Java, Python, or .NET
Experience with containerization technologies such as
Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, Helm (Relevant certifications are a plus).
Experience with
AWS and solid understanding of Cloud services
and infrastructure management (AWS certifications are a plus).
Experience with IaC such as
Terraform, Cloudformation.
Experience in diagnosing and resolving complex system issues across multiple technology layers.
Excellent communication skills to work effectively with diverse engineering teams.
Able to communicate fluently in English.
Strong team-player mindset and focused on leveraging experience to help the team succeed.
Passion for advocating and implementing best practices in Software Engineering and DevOps.

Job Purpose
The Professional Officers Division (POD) houses a centralized pool of academic staff under the Professional Officers scheme. Professional Officers come with specialised and deep technical skills acquired through extensive industry experience. They form the talent pool which brings a much-needed industry perspective to student learning. They facilitate applied learning and applied research in SIT, complementing the academic expertise of the faculty to bring industry practices and applications into the curriculum.
Professional Officers leverage on their industry experiences to create authentic learning environments, where discovery and innovation take place. They act as coaches and mentors to students during practical learning activities such as laboratory sessions, Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Professional Officers could also lead or work with faculty on industry innovation projects to provide solutions to the industry.
In addition to their role in applied learning and applied research, Professional Officers manage the centralised laboratory facilities and resources in SIT. With Technical Officers, laboratory safety professionals, and administrators in POD, they jointly develop central policies and processes for the safe and seamless operation of laboratories in SIT.
Key Responsibilities
Design and teach labs & practice modules.
Mentor students in Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP).
Lead or co-lead innovation projects with industry.
Manage labs and equipment to support academic programmes and applied research.
Ensure safety in labs.
Job Requirements
Education & Certifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field from a recognized university.
Experience:
A seasoned technical specialist with 10+ years of industry experience in software development lifecycles, with strong technical expertise and hands-on development experience.
Programming Languages: C#, C/C++, Python, Java.
Software Engineering Principles: Expertise in Object-Oriented Design, Microservices, and API Development.
Cloud & DevOps Technologies: Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD Pipelines, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
Passion for supporting research and academic projects, with a track record of developing software solutions to address technical challenges.
Extensive industry experience and knowledge to provide valuable industry perspectives in an academic setting.
