As part of this programme, Cross Cutting Theme 2: Satellite Remote Sensing will map and monitor the impact and solutions of climate change in Southeast Asia region.

The Earth Observatory of Singapore invites applications for a Research Associate to support CTP Cross Cutting Theme 2 (Satellite Remote Sensing). The team's research covers SAR, multi/hyper-spectral remote sensing, LiDAR, and GNSS data for disaster response and hazard monitoring for earthquakes, volcanoes, and impacts of climate change.

Evidence of the ability to write and present at the level required for peer-reviewed scientific journals and international conferences, which will usually be in English. We are particularly interested in candidates who have expertise in analysing and interpreting satellite remote sensing data from Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and multi/hyper-spectral sensors for measuring ground deformation, mapping surface changes due to disaster events, and mapping ocean colours and ocean topography for carbon flux estimates.

• Analyse and interpret remote sensing data to understand natural hazards/disasters across Southeast Asia
• Develop and conduct research projects both independently and in a team
• Write up research results for publication in peer-reviewed journals and present results at conferences

• Master's degree in Earth science, geophysics, geodesy, physics, civil/electrical engineering, natural hazards, computer vision, machine learning, or a related field.

The Department of Climate Research is seeking a highly skilled professional to fill the role of Data Executive. This position involves managing data requests and collections related to Singapore's Third National Climate Change Study (V3).

• Manage V3 data queries and requests from various government agencies, Institutes of Higher Learning, Research Institutes, and the public.
• Collaborate with the DCR Data Manager to ensure timely response to queries about V3 data.
• Process data requests within 7 days following the MSS Data Sharing Procedure for Standard/Time-sensitive Datasets.

Under the supervision of Professor Ute Meta Bauer, the research staff will work in an interdisciplinary and collaborative research environment, aiming to support the development of digital tools (i.e. online manuals) alongside artists, scientists, and coastal communities in Bintan. This digital tool focuses on mangrove and coral restoration and eco-friendly tourism, aiming to address the needs of coastal communities to determine nature-based solutions and mitigation strategies for sea level rise in Bintan, Indonesia and apply these learnings to Singapore.
