As part of this programme, Cross Cutting Theme 2: Satellite Remote Sensing will map and monitor the impact and solutions of climate change in Southeast Asia region.
The Earth Observatory of Singapore invites applications for a Research Associate to support CTP Cross Cutting Theme 2 (Satellite Remote Sensing). The team's research covers SAR, multi/hyper-spectral remote sensing, LiDAR, and GNSS data for disaster response and hazard monitoring for earthquakes, volcanoes, and impacts of climate change.
Evidence of the ability to write and present at the level required for peer-reviewed scientific journals and international conferences, which will usually be in English. We are particularly interested in candidates who have expertise in analysing and interpreting satellite remote sensing data from Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and multi/hyper-spectral sensors for measuring ground deformation, mapping surface changes due to disaster events, and mapping ocean colours and ocean topography for carbon flux estimates.
Key Responsibilities- Analyse and interpret remote sensing data to understand natural hazards/disasters across Southeast Asia
- Develop and conduct research projects both independently and in a team
