- Liaise with various stakeholders, including policyholders, intermediaries, investigators, surveyors, adjusters, lawyers, and third-party claimants.

- Perform periodic reviews of files as required.

Key Requirements:
- A Certificate in General Insurance (CGI) qualification or relevant insurance equivalent is preferred.

In this position as a Reinsurance Claims Manager, you will be reporting to the HOD and managing the property and engineering claims within the reinsurance portfolio. This position requires strong technical knowledge in property and
engineering insurance, with a deep understanding of facultative arrangements and global claims practices.
In order to be successful in this position, you will be expected to manage the end-to-end process of reinsurance claims, including claim intake, investigation, evaluation and settlement. You will be expected to conduct reviews on reinsurance policies to understand coverage terms, negotiate settlements with claimants, brokers to achieve fair and timely resolution of claims while minimizing financial impact. The ideal incumbent should be someone that is highly responsible, analytical and have strong sense of ownership.

About this job:
The role of the Claims manager, Life and Health, APAC (Asia, Australia and New Zealand) requires delivery of quality claims services for our clients in the APAC region. The ideal candidate must be able to manage all claims related responsibilities for clients, provide expert opinions, technical claims advice, targeted claims training, and support the delivery of claims solutions to clients in APAC, including enhancing our footprint in industry associations. In addition, the candidate should demonstrate strong customer-orientation, have experience in projects and process improvement initiatives, whilst maintaining a proactive and positive working relationship with clients.
About the role:
Key responsibilities
Provide accurate and timely assessment of claims from cedants, thus supporting the business unit productivity, quality, and service level standards
Manage claims related responsibilities for clients in APAC and provide clients with expert opinions including complex claims and thought leadership insights from a technical perspective
Review, resolve and respond to claims, disputes and inquiries
Conduct audits and onsite reviews as required by our market unit
Engagement in projects and process improvement initiatives (internal and external)
Support the Medical solutions and business teams with product development and tenders from clients in APAC, including supporting cedant claims capability assessments and treaty reviews
Maintain profitability and sustainability of the books of business via client engagement and strategic portfolio reviews
Support the proper governance and compliance framework within the claims function in APAC
Develop and deliver claims technical training to clients across APAC, including being involved with regional claims training programs across APAC
Support the delivery of claims solutions to clients such as disability claims scores and claims rules engines
Collaboration with claims team members in the global team and other markets within PartnerRe
Build and maintain proactive and positive working relationships with clients, brokers, and other external stakeholders
Enhance our footprint in industry associations across APAC
Any other projects or responsibilities assigned as part of the APAC team
Qualifications
About you:
Technical skills/competencies
Have extensive Life (re)insurance technical claims expertise and have experience in handling mortality, critical illness, ADB, disability benefits including Income protection and TPD
Have a strong understanding of products across group and retail markets, including good understanding of underwriting and claims practices, especially across the ANZ market. Having experience of the APAC market will be an added advantage
Are resourceful in developing and delivering claims training, providing technical input to product definitions conducting claims and portfolio reviews, and excited with taking unique claims solutions to clients
Understand the market regulatory framework including the application of the Life Insurance Act, Insurance Contracts Act, and the Life Insurance Code of Practice
Proficiency in written and oral English is a must
Chinese language capabilities will be an added advantage

Are a team player, with well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills and have a strong client centricity mindset
Have good self-management, planning, organizing and time management skills
Have excellent influencing, negotiation, and presentation skills

Work experience
10 years’ or more of Life (re)insurance experience in the management of claims across all benefit types (particularly IP and TPD) either across Group or Retail with experience in ANZ market
Education
Have a graduation or above degree either in medical or para-medical field, life sciences or finance
Professional qualifications/Designation
Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) or Advanced Certificate in Life Insurance Claims Operation will be advantageous
