About Child Protection Specialist Centre (CPSC):

We are dedicated to providing quality home-based services and support to families and children experiencing abuse or severe neglect at home. Referrals are received from the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) Child Protection Services to assist families and children identified as needing non-statutory services and support. Guided by a child-centred, family-focused, and community-based approach, our aim is to empower families to reach their fullest potential and provide ongoing support through life’s changes and challenges.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct risk assessment and safety planning.
• Carry out social investigation, assessment, case formulation, intervention planning.
• Timely preparation of reports and case recordings.
• Implement safety and intervention plans.
• Conduct meetings, sessions, coaching with families, parents/caregivers.
• Develop wraparound services to support high-need families through advocacy, referrals and collaboration.
• Provide emotional support, guidance/brief counselling to selected families/children/young persons.
• Provide supervision for social workers.

Requirements:

• Degree in Social Work or Degree with a Graduate Diploma in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• At least 3-5 years of experience working with and providing supervision working with child protection, mental health and/or family violence issues.
• Able to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
• Has maturity, communication skills and interpersonal skills to work with professionals and families from diverse backgrounds.
• Able to engage and work with children and adolescents.
• Prepared to work two nights a week and weekends occasionally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop Individualized Care Plans (ICPs) with Needs Assessments for necessary intervention upon admission
• Collaborate with families to equip them with skills and assistance to manage and provide adequate care for their children

• Assist with transitional placement of children in securing alternative care options

1. Provide statutory intervention and supportive services to address the needs of children and young persons who have been seriously harmed or are at high risk of serious harm.
