Operational and Technical
- Responsible for execution of batch manufacturing instructions in accordance with pre-defined procedures and training.
- Ensures batch execution is performed with adherence to process critical steps and ensures flawless execution.
- Provides inputs on operational and process related improvements to achieve site business targets and manufacturing excellence.
- Performs technical verification of batch related recipes (POMS and DeltaV), manual operations and adhoc manufacturing documentations.
- Provides input in design of manufacturing recipe in DCS.
- Participate in digitalization projects and identify areas for process and operational streamlining.
Safety
- Adheres to safe work environment in accordance with regulatory and global/local EHS policies.
- Participates in safety risks assessments or participates in process hazard analysis as an operations representative(PHA).
Quality
- Actively resolve batch related document errors in a timely manner.
- Communicates all events/issues effectively with relevant stakeholders.
- Provide inputs for investigation – impact assessment and appropriate CAPA.
- Ensures overall plant upkeep during the shift and ensuring plant is always in audit ready mode.
Schedule
- Oversees deliverables ahead, anticipates complexities and prevents potential delays.
- Ensures processes are running as per planned schedule with minimal delays. Highlights effectively to shift supervisor if delays are expected.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Chemical Engineering/Chemistry or equivalent technical related diploma is required. Fresh graduates also welcome to apply
- Experience in working in a GMP manufacturing environment.
- Able to work comfortably in 12-hour rotating shift (Day/Night).

Job Purpose
- Operate and monitor the chemical production activities in the plant, ensuring that the product is manufactured within set production schedule and to the required standards of quality in a safe, efficient, responsible and cost-effective manner.
Responsibilities:
- Operate the different streams of the plant for their specific processes.
- Each of these processes comprises the following activities.
- Handover checks computerised and/or manual.
- Obtaining, following and completing process related documentation.
- Pre and post batch cleaning of vessels and lines.
- Pre batch checks.
- Charging vessels either manually or via a pump.
- Post charging checks and taking corrective action where necessary.
- Adjusting and monitoring process conditions as required to start the process.
- Monitoring process; both with computer and manually observing temperature, pressure, flow, pH, volume, colour, moisture content and adjusting the parameters accordingly.
- Carrying out routine sampling and Bulk packing and testing of samples as required.
- Recognise end point of the reaction and altering process parameter to stop reaction.
- Transferring product to the next stage.
- Comply with HSE and quality policies and defined procedures. Bring out unsafe conditions and acts / procedures for correction.
- Record all operational and analytical data on the appropriate documents and inform the Shift Supervisor of any process abnormalities.
- Maintain product separation and accurate labelling of all documents, bags and vessels at all times.
- Carry out routine checks and scheduled cleaning procedures including cleanrooms.
- Request and collect raw materials and consumables, observe clean areas procedures, monitor raw materials stock and notify Shift Supervisor for any abnormalities.
- Notify Shift Supervisor of requirements for maintenance. Prepare equipment before maintenance work e.g. depressurizing, cleaning of lines and equipment, de-energizing, LOTO etc.
- Perform basic maintenance of equipment using tools such as TPM.
- At the Shift Supervisor's request, to carry out on-the-job training of other Chemical Technicians, incorporating cGMP and safety procedures.
- To observe cGMP and Health & Safety rules and regulations at work at all times in accordance with Company set standards.
- To be aware of the potentially hazardous nature of the chemicals in the area and must take the appropriate precautions when using them.
- Maintain housekeeping of the plant, daily API cleanrooms cleanings and provide suggestions for improvements.
- To operate ancillary facilities e.g. water system, tank farms, solvent recovery, salt crushing activities etc.
Requirements:
- Minimum NITEC or Higher NITEC in Chemical Processing or related
- Be prepared to work 12-hour shifts and overtime.
- Able to perform manual handling tasks including lifting of materials which are weights up to 25kg.
- Medically fit, and to be part of Company's firefighter CERT team.
- Able to use process control systems for operation of plant equipment
- Familiar with operation of manufacturing equipment such reactors, centrifuges, filters, dryers etc
- Familiar and able to apply GMP in manufacturing processes
- Able to identify and manage hazards that may occur within biopharmaceutical plant

Responsibilities
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Operate and monitor the chemical processes assigned
Each of these processes may comprise the following activities
Participate in an appropriate hand-over of the process(es) on which he / she is working.
Obtain, follow and complete process related documentation. Check prior shifts' documentation for accuracy and thoroughness.
Clean vessels and lines prior to and following batches as required.
Conduct all required pre-batch checks.
Charge vessels with solids or liquids as directed in procedures.
Conduct post-charge verification checks and take any necessary corrective action.
Adjust and monitor (using all information available, including automation input/outputs and personal inspection) process conditions as required.
Carry out routine sampling, testing some samples as necessary.
Transfer process streams to other units in coordination with other staff.
Monitor process; both with Distributed Control System (DCS) and manually observing temperature, pressure, flow, PH, volume, colour, salt content, moisture content and adjusting the parameters accordingly.
Perform Batch / Offloading operations.
Operate general facility service equipment such as vacuum pumps, water systems, Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) scrubbers.
Record all operational and analytical data on the appropriate documents and inform the Shift Production Lead of any process abnormalities.
Put on appropriate clothing and personal protective equipment for the process and the processing area.
Maintain material segregation and label appropriately and accurately all containers, bags and vessels.
Carry out routine checks and scheduled cleaning procedures, for both process and facilities as required.
Obtain and verify materials necessary for processing, monitor materials stock and notify Shift Production Lead as necessary in the event of a material or supply abnormality.
Notify Shift Production Lead of requirement for maintenance. Prepare equipment before maintenance work e.g. depressurizing, cleaning of lines and equipment, de-energizing etc.
Conduct on-the-job training of other Chemical Technicians.
Perform material handling duties including forklift/reach-truck operation driving.
Carry out assignments for alternate or simultaneous processes as directed.
Meet eligibility requirements for the Emergency Response Team.
Attend meetings and training events as required.
Maintain all qualifications and development milestones as necessary for duties.
What You Must Have
To be successful in this role, you will have
Higher NITEC or Diploma in Engineering(Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical) or Science, or equivalent operations experience.

The Chemical Technician is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the production process operations at the EVAL Manufacturing site, which will commence in the second half of 2026. This role involves monitoring and maintaining the process units' equipment by measuring, recording, and controlling operating parameters. He is also expected to diagnose and rectify system and component faults in accordance with established procedures and specifications, ensuring safe and efficient operation of all process units and equipment. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Chemical Technician will receive training and learning opportunities in EVAL production technology from experienced Kuraray members until the production line starts. Additionally, the Chemical Technician will participate in equipment commissioning activities to achieve a safe and stable commissioning and startup of the new EVAL plant.
Responsibilities:
· Perform minor maintenance such as strainer cleaning, filter/ screen change, coolant/ lubricants top up and hose connection etc.
· Perform checks, start-up and shutdown operations on process equipment such as pumps and compressors as per Standard Operating Procedures or Work Instructions.
· Isolating piping systems for plant start-up, shutdowns, product grade change and troubleshooting operations.
· Adjusting process parameters to optimize process operations under supervision of Supervisors.
· Collect process samples from assigned sampling points in a safe manner.
· Able to work in a laboratory environment performing in process sample testing to ensure product quality.
· Commissioning and de-commissioning of process equipment.
